“Gem in the Brandywine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

A definite "must see" when you are visiting the Brandywine attractions. Three generations of Wyeth's paintings. The museum is small but have excellent exhibits.
This should not be missed. Sunday's offer free admission.

great place to visit for couple of hours. they have nature nook for children to play where the lady was so helpful getting children involved and they had a live penguin feed from california. she did storytime and they have live animals. we loved the scavenger hunt and dino fossils. my son enjoyed the model animals outside boar, bear, turtle. it has vending machine for food so we had to go to greenville for food. it was 18 dollars for both of us. nice day!

“Nice museum but smaller than expected.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Great display of mollusks and their shells. The main attractions were entertaining but could have been more numerous.

“Great little musuem in a cute little town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

I took my family here as a diversion while passing thru the area.. but I am so glad that we did. We all enjoyed this museum very much.. Everything was presented very well in small but well though out and cleverly put together exhibits. My 3 year olds loved the hands on "Nature Nook". They were encouraged to touch and explore the exhibits which was great. There was a very interesting shell exhibit which had a glass floor where you could look thru and see a re-created coral reef. There was even a little outside nature walk path with some cute statues. What started out as a "stop along the way" ended up being the highlight of our day.

“Unique museum exhibits, affordably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Looking for things to do with kids on a Sunday in Delaware can be challenging on a cold day. We found this museum through Google and since it was on the way home, we decided to check it out. We are so glad we did. It's not a huge museum, but there are all sorts of different exhibits from dinosaurs, to underwater creatures, mammals and rocks & minerals. They had a special exhibit called "Glow: Living Lights" which featured a movie in their Auditorium and special side exhibit. The topic was Bioluminescence, which is the production and emission of light by a living organism. AMAZING pictures and hands on exhibits. There are many ways to experience the musuem: visually (read & see the artifacts), auditory (hear the sounds as you step into the rain forest), sensory (children's play area helps kids interact with creatures and get hands on with science). I just can't say enough about this very affordably priced, clean and fun museum. A coat room on site so you don't have to lug everything. Clean bathrooms. A vending area with seating. An auditorium to rest and watch movies. A smaller child's play area where you must sign in and out. They also have birthday parties if you live in the area and are looking for something unique to do. A small, but well appointed gift shop on site. Free parking. GO - it's so much fun to learn something new.
