“Little Haven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

We have visited many Greek islands and villages searching for a place that ticked all our boxes. Well finally we have found it at Princess Tia.
The rooms have the most amazing sea views anyone could wish for and the hotel is situated on the beach road, when I say road don't be alarmed as you very rarely see a car. Tia is the most amazing host and will go out of her way to make your holiday perfect, nothing is too much trouble for her. The room that we stayed in (Room 11) was very spacious , clean and totally quiet. The hotel is so quiet throughout the day and night, you are guaranteed a peaceful night sleep.
Maria who is on the Bar is an amazing asset too, she is always smiling and laughing. The Hotel is only a very short walk to a few Taverns which serve the most wonderful food in particular Akrogalia and Stella you will not be disappointed with the food served. I cannot rate this hotel enough it is Fantastic. A very big thank you to Tia and her team for making our holiday so special.

Room Tip: All the rooms have amazing sea views.

Good but not excellent! Sometimes reading the reviews makes you have big expectations and at the end getting disappointed! The rooms were clean and decent but nothing too special and as it concerns the service and the atmosphere the only reason I would go back is sweet and warm Efi who knows how to treat costumers and make them feel like home! Is it good communication skills? Is it from the heart? This girl knows how to do her job damn right!!!

Following our eighth visit to Balos in the last seven years, I have finally got around to posting a review and I can only reiterate all of the positive comments I have read from the other contributors about the Balos area and the local people - all of whom have done everything within their power to make each and every visit more and more special.

It was our first year in the resort that we first stayed at Princess Tia and we have been made to feel like friends ever since. The hotel is ideally located for a quiet and relaxing holiday and the accommodation and amenities are of a very good standard but it is the welcome provided by Tia, and Yiannis that really stands out. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to ensure that every guest gets the holiday they desire - be that peace and quiet or active and adventurous and they are happy to arrange hire cars, excursions, etc. to suit all tastes.

Additionally, the other members of the team are also fantastic. When they are not studying Katerina and Elefteria (Tia's daughters) help out at the popular pool bar, where on most days you will find Effi serving an array of speciality coffees and the best draft beer in Balos, as well as a selection of snack foods. Like the owners, she too cannot do enough for the guests.

In short, I cannot recommend Princess Tia Hotel highly enough and we very much look forward to returning to Balos for our eighth year in 2014.

Try it! You will not be disappointed.

Dateline 13 to 26 September 2013
Place Princess Tia, Balos, Samos
Second year visit. Something's have changed, but most remains the same.
That's the beauty for me. Total, unadultered relaxation.
Difficult to quantify, but as a retired business person, full of stress, lack of sleep this place me back to earth in so many ways.
It appears it does this to the majority who come here.
Having to travel 200 miles to Gatwick to catch a 0530 flight, that is overnight travel, the tiredness was overcome the 1st day. Sun, warmth, quite and good pleasant surrounding.
The welcome from Tia was as warm as ever.
My wife and I couldn't wish for more.
Rooms were immaculate as ever thanks the Maria.
The grounds tidy and well tended.
The bar was cared for by Efi who was as attentive as before
What more do you need. Breakfast in the sun, relaxing morning, snack at lunch, relaxing pm, a nice drink as the sun goes down. And off to one of the tavernas a pleasant walk away.
Good food, relaxation, sun, pleasant accommodation and good company. What else do you want from your life.
We look forward to returning to our Idyll for mk3. Can't wait.
Thanks to Tia and her loyal and caring staff, to whom nothing is to much trouble.

We have just returned from a wonderful peaceful week staying at Princess Tia in Balos, booked through Cachet Travel. Balos has a very long pebbly beach and clear turquoise sea. Princess Tia is located in the middle with just the little access road between it and the beach. The rooms are spotlessly clean and all have a sea view. Tia is very welcoming and friendly and makes regular trips to the local supermarket in her car for her guests. The baker called in his little van every day, beeping his horn at the civilised time of 10.15 or so in the morning for us to buy our regular fix of pies and bread. Tia was able to arrange car hire and taxi trips for us, but mostly we just wanted to stay where we were. We will definitely be back. Thank you Tia!

Room Tip: any room is good

My wife and I have just returned from a week's stay at the Princess Tia Apartments at Balos Beach, Samos. We could not have wished for a better holiday. The apartment was perfect, in a wonderful setting, just a stone's throw from the beach. The swimming pool was delightful, as were the bar and surrounds. Tia and her staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and eager to ensure that our holiday was perfect - which indeed it was. The holiday was organised through Cachet Travel whose rep on the island was also very helpful. We came here on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed earlier in the year; the recommendation turned out to be extremely well made. We would similarly recommend Princess Tia to anyone looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay on this wonderful island.

Everything was good about the Princess Tia.When we were given a side room (no 10) by Cachet Travel I was concerned that I wouldent have a clear sea view (my one reason for a holiday !)I need not have worried all the rooms have sea view and the balconies are cleverly designed at angles to provide this. The room was clean and bright and the beds comfortable.
Balos is quiet just Tavernas but this is as we wanted it.When we did venture further we were always happy to return to Balos straight onto the beach into the sea back to the Hotel and out to eat.
You will feel safe here ideal for lone travelers (or ladies on their own).Tia the warm friendly owner laughed when my husband locked up the bicycle he had hired! She looks after her guests and really seems to enjoy it all.
Samos is a beautiful Island we are missing it already. .

Room Tip: All the rooms are good but we always choose upstairs ones for a bit more privacy.
