We stayed here while in Dewey Beach for a family wedding. We enjoyed our stay, found the front desk folks more than made up for the elements missing in the room. Like no hair dryer, but they had them at the front desk, likewise an iron and ironing board. All we had to do was ask. The room had been recently updated with a retro feel. No carpeting but being in a beach town that makes sense to me. It was a perfect location to walk Dewey Beach and within close distance to several good restaurants. I would recommend it to to someone looking for something a bit out of the ordinary.

Room Tip: All the rooms wrap around the pool, so I would ask for a room on the second floor. To be a little b...

We recently attended a wedding in the Dewey Beach/Rehoboth area, and stayed at the Beach House Dewey.

When I booked our stay, I don't think I realized that the hotel was actually set up like a typical beach motel: Small "lobby" for checking in and out. No common space, except the pool area. Rooms faced an exterior hall. No elevator (that I could find). No food and beverage outlets.

Also, the hotel is in the midst of a remodel - the pool was being refurbished (rather loudly and messy if I may add) and the exterior spaces were all pretty rough looking. You can tell that its a work in progress.

The rooms were a pleasant surprise. Completely remodeled with big comfy beds, furnishings that belonged in a cool hotel in Miami or LA - that sort of thing. We slept soundly each night. Our rooms were cleaned properly - really no complaints!

As far as location, it can't be beat. Immediate beach access and easy parking. Walking distance to the local restaurants and shops.

So all in all, I think that the new owners of this hotel are on the right track. If the rest of the hotel starts to resemble the rooms, then I think my star rating would go up.

Also, if you're deciding between Rehoboth vs Dewey, pick Rehoboth. Rehoboth is very upscale, quiet, and beautiful. Dewey is like the roudy, drunk younger sister to Rehoboth.

Room Tip: Rooms by the stairwell are noisy, but the window faces the ocean. Rooms away from the stairs are qui...

I just spent three days at the Beach House and really enjoyed it. The spacious room had two queen beds, a fridge and a microwave. There are plenty of food places nearby like Grotto Pizza and beer at Bottle and Cork. The beach is very close and a beautiful view of the bay is across the street. I will probably go there again.

Hotel room was very nicely updated. Service was friendly. But that is it. Rooms were way over priced. Walls paper thin. Bar across the street played VERY loud music with VERY loud bass that sounded like they were in your room until 1 am and started up again at 8 am. If you are looking for a quite hotel this is not for you.

I've waited, a while, to write this review just to give it time to be objective.
This place is nothing more than an old motel that was given a very modern makeover with the least amount of effort. It always seems that people pay more for less when going to the beach. What is acceptable at the beach would be considered condemned elsewhere.

While the style and colors in the rooms are great, that's the only good thing I can write.
It sounded like there was a nest of birds in the ceiling, we could hear every word spoken by the noisy neighbors at about 2am, the linens were not clean (there were obvious stains) and the floors stayed dirty. It didn't seem that housekeeping was a priority.
My first test for a hotel stay is the cleanliness and this property failed miserably.
Additionally, the beds were rather small and just not comfortable.
I would not stay here again because I just did not feel clean. The first thing I did when I came home was shower.

The pool was filthy and seemed ill-cared for. It also seemed to be open to the public.

The BEST part of this property was the proximity to the beach. We literally walked down a small road to get to the beach. On Wednesday nights, there's even a marshmallow roast that's right at the entrance to the beach down the road from this motel.

I feel awfully writing this review because the woman at the front desk was so kind. However, I cannot recommend a place based on one nice person.

I'm sure people will still want to stay here based on the photos and proximity to the beach but I truly cannot recommend it; you will most likely regret being here for any longer than one night let alone a week.

Room Tip: Try to get a corner room to avoid any more noise than necessary.

This hotel is newly renovated and absolutely gorgeous! And its head over heels more comfortable than some of the places in Dewey Beach we've stayed at. The non-carpeted rooms make so much more sense being a "beach" hotel. The colors and zen furniture are exactly like what you imagine a beach hotel to be. Newly renovated pool and updated lounge furniture as of last week too!

The bathrooms all have those circular shower curtain rods which always amaze me by how much roomier it makes the shower. All the rooms have a huge full length mirror and large chest of drawers perfect for storing the hundreds of outfits my friend always brings and for two girls to get ready at night. Beds and linens are brand new.

Its a mere 200 feet to the beach (give or take). And about the same distance from some of Dewey Beach's most popular night life. StarBoard, Hammerheads, Gary's, Woody's etc. Definitely worth the stay! Staff and management are friendly and personable, rooms are clean and beautiful and if you're coming to Dewey beach its going to put you right in the MIDDLE of where you want to be.

Just spent the weekend at this newly renovated hotel. The rooms were typical hotel rooms, with a modern Ikea twist, and a roll up shade for window treatment. Floors are not carpeted, so if you have allergies, this is great. Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice welcome, although when leaving and dropping off the door pass, a thank-you wasn't offered. Perhaps the manager was happy to see us since the hotel is incredibly over priced. Paid $270 per night for a hotel room with a slight view of the bay, blocks away. If you like a quiet stay, this is not the place to go. You can hear the traffic from Costal Route and the bar that offered a live band a block away that played well past midnight. Limited parking, no coffee pot in the room, and bring your own hair dryer. The room was clean, the linens were fresh, and the beach is a short walk.
