“Nice location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2006

I took my 2 teenage daughters to Dewey Beach for a few days to relax before school. We selected this hotel from previous review written. Overall it was a good expereince for a few days. The accomodations were a bit small for the price. We had a bayside room with a nice balcony which overlooks a pier and a nice piece of grass. The younger kids staying there really enjoyed the opportunity to go crabbing off the pier and kept them occuppied for hours. We like the close proximity to the beach, 2 blocks and never used the car , we took the trolley into Rehobeth Beach a few times. The pool was on the smallside but okay to cool off after the beach. We had our breakfast and lunch in the room and went out to dinner each night. So all in all the Bay Resort Motel was a good experience if you are not looking for luxury, who is, you are at the beach for the sun!

I just returned from staying at The Bay Resort and the staff could not have been nicer. I heard this same comment from others staying at the hotel as well. Everything was spotless. The staff really make you feel as though your vacation is important to them. The pool is in great shape and they have thier own pier and a little beach where you can get views of the bay. There are plenty of places to eat and shops close by. I would certainly go back the The Bay resorts.

I called this hotel based on the reviews on this website and was not disappointed. I felt welcomed from the first telephone call. The gentleman answered every question and made me feel like I had selected the right spot for a 5 night vacation for my son and I. When we arrived, I knew we had made the right choice.

The hotel is not luxurious but it meets all of your needs. There's a great dock/pier to crab from; a palapas and chairs in the shade and a pool (which we never used). The room had a microwave, fridge and stove and was always clean. Stay on the bay side as the view at night is lovely. When we weren't crabbing, I spent the evenings on the balcony enjoying the quiet.

It's a short walk to the beach which has lifeguards. The waves were amazing. There's a pizza place, sub shops, liquor store and several restaurants all within walking distance. We did not take the Jolly Trolley but there's a stop nearby. It's a short drive to Rehoboth which is very busy with shops and places to eat. We had a great meal ther at Fins. Be sure to have change or singles to get quarters for the parking meters.

View was great. Crabbing on the private pier was alot of fun for myself and daughter. This a family place and tucked away in a serene setting. Perfect location for a riding a bike to Rehoboth beach or anywhere at the shore. Close enough but yet distanced from all the hustle and bustle of a beach town. Staff was attentive to all of our needs and the room was large enough for possibly a longer stay. Swimming pool although somewhat crowded was still refreshing and enjoyable. I have stayed at posh places from Rehoboth to Ocean City, but the Bay Resort will be our place to stay when we come to the shore.

We just returned from a four-night stay at The Bay Resort in Dewey Beach. This was our third consecutive year at Dewey, and we were a little anxious about choosing a new place to stay when we learned that our previous hotel was being turned into a condo facility. After much internet searching and reading many reviews of various accommodations, we opted to try The Bay Resort ... and were not sorry!

Although it was about a 1/2 block further from the beach than our previous destination, it is still conveniently located. Our bayside room was a delight! Great view of the bay and the hotel's pier provided endless amusement with families crabbing at all hours. Also enjoyed the private little gazebo for watching the beautiful sunsets. We noticed no adjacent room noise and cleanliness gets high marks. Great place for couples, famlies with children, seniors ... would recommend it to anyone!

Entire staff could not have been nicer - from very personable general manager to desk clerk to maid service. Room size was ample, not crowded, and still offered everything - fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes, electric range top and oven, iron and ironing board if needed, and hair dryer. Beds were comfortable too. We were more than pleased and felt it was well worth the money. Will definitely stay there again in the future. Hope this will be as helpful to others as the reviews we read.

Dewey Beach fans from West Virginia.

Just got back from a four night stay at the Bay Resort and was pleased. Everything was as expected and we encountered no problems during our stay. Room was ample, clean and had a very nice view of the bay. Was great walking distance to beach, close to Bottle & Cork, Starboard for those who are interested in nightlife and Ruddertown is also in walking distance. We used the Jolly Trolley stop up the street to travel to and from the boardwalk. The hotel staff that we encountered were all very pleasent, helpful and informative. In a ideal situation I would love a bigger pool and hot tub, but hey I was happy with what we had and would stay here again.

The Bay Resort is our favorite hotel in Dewey Beach. It's a little expensive but worth it. It is walking distance to the nightlife and the beach.
