Its too bad that such a nice place (beach, campground, pool, facilities) is run by a group of naked old men who think they are running a small dictatorship. They and the "members" we met during our 4 day stay treated us, the guests "associates" like ugly step sisters that are not worthy of their facility- why open Solair up to guests if they are really not welcome!!!
The "president" and his henchmen are bullies that say Solair is a family place where inappropriate behavior is not tolerated, yet attend a Saturday night dance and watch the grinding and inappropriate behavior begin as tiny sexy outfits fall off. They promote a don't ask don't tell sexual policy, do what you want in your camper/cabin but not in public- you don't need to ask if you have eyes... Don't get us wrong- we are not prude or discriminatory by any means... just disappointed to see two sets of rules followed up by intimating strong armed tactics and threats of forceful removal. We are in the lifestyle, but that is not why we visited- we told our interviewer/member greeter right up front so not to hide anything or lie- he actually contributed his insight and then suggested other places he had been to that we might also like along with Solair.
We followed ever rule and never crossed any lines (as grey as they are) and yet we still received a letter upon our return home stating we were not welcome to return. They could not even tell us to our face... So if you are looking for a nude family atmosphere environment- Solair is not it- the members play, flaunt and display conduct that a child should not witness. If your an adult in the lifestyle- don't go as you will be asked to leave- even if that is not why you are there... So who is Solair for? - answer; the 200 or so members who own, make the rules and run this micro government.
We were so upset by the experience that we called the AARN to report our displeasure - They were not surprised about our experience at Solair and knew exactly of who we were speaking of. They were very apologetic and suggested several other friendlier facilities that are welcoming to their guests. New England has 10+ places to go natural- we suggest all them before ever setting foot on Solair's property.
Again, we are admittedly in the lifestyle and were honest and upfront upon our entrance interview- we went there to relax and nude sunbath- that's it and made that very clear in our words and actions.
