We discovered Mario's several years ago when passing through town, and stopped in for lunch expecting typical pizza and pasta fare. What a hidden gem! This is our go-to restaurant now for delicious food in a casual setting. We always sit in the bar at one of the roomy raised booths, and chat with the friendly waitstaff and owner or catch the game on one of the 4 screens around the room. There is often a local crowd at the bar. Get there early on a Friday or Saturday night.
We have never had a bad meal at Mario's, and we've been there dozens of times. The Filet Mignon Savoy is outstanding. Other favorites include Chicken Picata, Shrimp Scampi, Cavitelli with sausage and brocolli, Chicken Parmesan, and pizza. The sundried tomato sauce served with the bread is a favorite.
The Tuscan Breeze and Tuscan Martini drinks are my favorite starts to the meal, and we often share whatever appetizer is on the specials list for the day. Salads are mixed greens and iceberg with a few other vegetables, standard family restaurant fare. Usually we are all so full that we can't order dessert.
This isn't a five-star white-linen restaurant. It is good food, good prices, with friendly efficient staff, and our family's favorite place for a meal.
