“Doing better under new management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2013

Always a charming location, this restaurant historically has been plagued with high prices and mediocre food. Now, they do offer solid food and the prices aren't too bad.

“Totally Made over and worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

This charming location has had a makeover and the food is terrific. We had various entrees; Lamb Osobucco, Cod all delicious. The Steak tapas was good and so were the mussels. Great selection of wines too. The service was attentive and management very friendly. There is now live music on the weekends and various events such as wine tastings, opera and other entertainment to entice you to make the trip. Very nice changeover and the decor has been spruced up as well.

“Enjoyed a great meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

We were so glad to hear that the Cobb's Mill Inn had reopened and were not disappointed when we finally had a chance to dine there. We were hoping that it would be better than right before it closed and we are glad to report that it is. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was very good. We make a point of trying oyster appetizers whenever we can. The fried oysters were done perfect - no heavy breading and very light, not oily - very well done. We also tried the escargot. Small, tender, succulent - again very well done. I had the beef tenderloin and my husband had the roast duck. He almost didn't try it because duck can be tricky but he was very happy with his selection. Both entrees were very good - one of the best meals we have had out lately. We will be back.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

My family and I went there recently (1/2013) for dinner and thought the food was excellent. The beef tenderloin was out of this world! The portions was very generous as well. The staff was especially friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back for dinner again. Glad to see this place is back in business.

“Needs updating”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

I have been to the old Cobb's Mill Inn and was looking forward to checking out the new LaRoue at Cobb's Mill Inn for Thanksgiving dinner this year. I will say that the food was very tasty. And the staff very attentive and professional!
The buffet set up was terrible. It looked like something out of a high school cafeteria. The salad was limited and mediocre, everything else was just plopped onto 6' folding table in the middle of the room. No decorations, some trays were empty, had to ask for the soup that was nowhere to be found, yet the card was on the table describing it. For a holiday buffet, some effort should have been put into the food display.
The men's room was ATROCIOUS! A shower curtain instead of a door for the only stall, and fixtures that hadn't been touched since the 60's. Really unacceptable for this kind of establishment. Makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like.
