My wife and I attended the West Hartford Holiday Stroll, which is an annual event held early in December in West Hartford Center and Blue Back Square. Stores stay open late on a Thursday night, serve treats such as cookies, chocolates, hot chocolate and cider to entice customers into their stores.
A horse drawn trolley gives free rides around the center and square if you are willing to stand in the long line for it.
Christmas carolers or other bands may be seen either walking around or are stationed in specific stores.
Since this is a special event, the sidewalks are crowded and parking lots full so that finding a place to park is a challenge. Since the town parking garages charge for parking, finding free parking for this event is even more of a challenge.
The prices in the stores are not reduced for the event, so there are no bargains to be had.
It is a nice event to stroll around if the weather is good, which it was this year, and run into people you know.
