“A nice getaway!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2010

The hotel is beautiful....our king room was large with a huge bathroom. Hotel staff was very courteous. I booked several months in advance and told them at that time this was an anniversary trip for us. On our first night they sent a beautiful cake and flowers to our room! We called and asked for a fan to use in the room and in 5 minutes it was there. Its a little confusing getting in however....we ended up following the sign for valet/check in....turns out this valet was for the casino and not the hotel....the valet saw us pulling our luggage out of the vehicle but never bothered to ask if we were checking into the hotel...which was on the other side...we ended up toting our luggage through the casino to make it to the hotel check in :( Otherwise a nice place once you get your bearings and figure out where everything is....its a huge place.

We have stayed at Moheghan Sun once and visited several times. If you like casino, this ranks with the best. The rooms are expensive, especially on nights of concert. We stayed there the night of an Eric Clapton show. The room was fine. The restaurant choices are good. We eat at the seafood place - don't remember the name. But enjoyed it a lot. The casinos are massive and there is every game you can imagine. They have a big Asian gaming section. I don't play those games but the Asian food court near that section has some excellent food choices.

Just came back from staying at the MGM Grand which is much newer and although had a great time there, the cleanliness is not on par with Mohegan Sun. Have stayed at the Sun several times and always find the rooms spotless and they are roomier too.

Service is excellent and friendly. Room service is outstanding. We paid 39.00 a night for our weekday stay and had a blast. So many restaurant options to choose from too and the beauty of the casino and hotel is unrivaled in CT. We have been to Vegas and to Atlantic City, but we love our local Mohegan Sun best. Classy is overrated. I love the historical indian look of our local casino better as it is more interesting. The hotel rooms are most definitely classy enough and the bathroom is really gorgeous too.

Gaming is awesome at Mohegan Sun. We love it and we also have taken advantage of several freebies as they are generous with these for those of us who visit them on occasion. Love the free concert tickets guys...that is a real perk! Also, the reduced rate nights are always welcome. I often win on their slots and roulette tables too since I think they are looser than Foxwoods are and definitely looser than Vegas and AC!

Keep up the great work Mohegan Sun...we will be back often as you are like an old friend :)

I received a trip to Mohegan Sun for my 40th birthday to see Nickelback in the arena on site. We secured a "suite" room for the evening that we split amongst our 4 guests. I was awarded the king sized bed in it's own bedroom to MYSELF for the night, which was extremely comfy & large. The hotel was clean but didnt have that "hotel" smell, it actually smelled like essential oils, or a high quality spa...very relaxing and cozy. The atmosphere in this place is Disney worthy--unbelieveable architecture. So much to look at and everything kept in mint condition. The public bathrooms even have a self-replacing toilet liner! (You need to actually see it in order to believe it!)--probably the cleanest restrooms I have ever been in! Staff was extremely friendly, bringing us our requested cot with no problems or delays. Valet was prompt and friendly also. Price of hotel was a bit much, therefore I expected top-notch service (and got it)--obviously won't be able to swing another night here for a bit, but it was worth every penny! Highly recommend!

I never go to a casino with more then $100, so this may not be a review for you to read if you're a gambler. But I thought everything inside was absolutely beautiful. Living in New Jersey, I've been to the AC casinos quite a few times. And nothing is quite as attractive as this casino (maybe the Borgota).

I had at least two different interactions with the staff. And both were very nice. With the second time requiring me to ask a very stupid question, but they were still very polite and helpful.

I was told by a friend to order a milk shake while at the machines/tables because they were amazing. Maybe I have high standards, and even though it was free (besides the tip), I've had much better milk shakes.

Even if you're not a big gambler, that's A LOT of penny slots and it's worth just a stroll through.

We have stayed here several times since it opened. The hotel is excellent from checkiin- to check-out. The rooms are well kept, and very clean. Most have excellent views of the Thames River and surrounding Connecticut countryside. Really nice views in the fall.

Went on a trip with friends for a weekend to the Sun. The hotel is great, rooms are large and comfy, as well as extremely clean. The casion is massive and the dealers are friendly and polite. The waitress service on the floor is very poor. There are very few waitresses and the are rude and disgruntaled. The food was terrible in the food court, so avoid it at all costs. It also is not good that they stop serving liquor at 1:30AM. Overall a great fun experience and will go back.
