we stay often and always have the best time because of a great guest experience.

They have really done a great job making you feel special. Any request at the hotel is handled immediately and issue corrected immediately.

The staff is friendly - genuinely friendly.

The hotel, restaurants, casino are always spotless. They have managed to put a great variety of restaurants and shops for all tastes and price ranges.

They've done a lot with comps and you can now get a free/reduced rate room more often (or the economy has helped) than in the past

Definitely a favorite

My husband and I finally got a room for Friday night 9/25, our 10th wedding anniversary. We've been trying for years to get a room in the casino on the weekend (even as a Players Club member) and not been able to (the casino looked empty for a Friday night, maybe that's why). Paid $279 (plus taxes, etc). They knew it was our anniversary and sent up a chocolate cake (a whole cake!) with a card and flowers...very nice touch. The room was clean and suite-like in decor and set-up. The bathroom was huge! My husband said he'd never had such a powerful shower. Very miniscule amounts of noise through the walls (almost like white noise). Comfortable bed, but the pillows were a little too fluffy. Overall...awesome experience.

We ate at my husband's favorite restaurant, Tuscany, where we were once again greeted with "Happy Anniversary" wishes and offered a dessert on the house (what's with their sweet tooth?). Everything was wonderful...and a relief not to have to drive home (2-1/2 hours) or find a local hotel with car service.

We had a room on the 27th floor with a view of the CT River. We aw eagles soaring overhead in the late afternoon. The check-in was easy and the staff friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Enjoyed our overnight stay. Did not use the spa or the pool, but both looked attractive.

We stayed here Sun & Mon (09/13) and we enjoyed every aspect. It was quite nice to be paying less than the Hampton Inn in Middletown, RI for a bigger, nicer room. Though not very crowded in either the hotel or the casino, there was still a good number of people during the day and lines for the buffet.
The hotel is well-placed at the apex of the two main shopping concourses featuring a variety of shops and multiple rambling gaming areas. I prefer the extensive thematic elements over the Foxwoods approach--many areas have large panels and structures to break up sight lines. Frank Pepe Pizza made for a good lunch--worth the wait. Summer Shack likewise was good for dinner--very casual style, but top-notch food.

We live 10 minutes away but wanted to stay in a suite at the Sun to enjoy the entertainment, dining, drinks and amenities as if we were tourists. For about $329/nite we stayed on a Sunday in a suite w/a separate living room, bedroom, two TVs, 1-1/2 baths, three closets and mini bar. The view from the 26th floor of the cove was spectacular! Cleanliness was excellent, hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the room was very spacious, especially the master bathroom. Wonderful bathroom give-aways. The room was quiet and very modern. We enjoyed this suite much more than the same caliber suite at the neighboring MGM Grand at Foxwoods. We highly recommend staying here.

Plus side:
GREAT basketball game in the arena -- lots of fun.
Micheal Jordan's Steakhouse and Bobby Flay's Burger Place were EXCELLENT.
Fun and friendly poker room -- nice players and dealers and extremely helpful staff.
Great room with comfy bed and great shower.
No sloppy, sleazy drunks at 2am which was a nice change from Atlantic City.
They do not nickel and dime you -- free internet, reasonalbly priced food, etc.

Down Side:
JB's Margaritaville was a bad meal.
VERY expensive room charge -- $499/night over labor day weekend, WOW, pricey
Slots -- did not win at ALL.
Too few waitstaff in poker room, so took FOREVER to get a drink.

We celebrated our 25th anniversary at Mohegan Sun. This is an expensive hotel (our room charge was $525 per night), but the location was great and the casino was very enjoyable.

When we checked, the hostess asked if this was our 25th anniversary. Minutes later, she told us that she was upgrading us to a luxury suite at no extra charge! The suite was beautiful with two separate bathrooms, a large tub and separate walk-in shower and more.

After checking out the room we went to the casino area for dinner and a bit of gambling. When we returned, we were astonished to find a chocolate mousse cake waiting in the room!

Our thanks to the Mohegan Sun staff for making our anniversary a memorable experience.
