“Couldn't ask for more!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014

Thanks to a great deal on Travelzoo, I took a quick getaway to Mohegan Sun for an overnight stay. I have stayed with a friend in one of their awesome suites before, and their regular rooms did not disappoint. I was able to get my request of a high floor, but I forgot to ask for a room away from the elevators. The elevator lobby is so big that noise wasn't even an issue! I had a lovely view of the river, beautifully decorated, clean, smells nice and spacious. I cannot WAIT to run away to MoSun again soon!

Room Tip: Ask for a river view.

Its been a few years since we stayed at this hotel, but We wondered what took us so long to come back! We arrived early about 10:30ish am ...lobby was filled with corporate conferees signing in, but hotel had at least 8-10 staffers checking in folks so it went pretty quickly. Kudos #1... Hotel staffed front desk properly. Tanishia (front desk clerk) who checked us in was so friendly and welcoming and took great care to fix our temporarily misplaced reservation. ( We had confirmation number but had to reschedule due to snowstorm in February, so we were not evident immediately in the system). She immediately called her manager or VIP desk and worked it through with panache. Kudos #2..Hotel employs people who care about their customers. Room wasn't ready, so we had breakfast and. Played a bit before checking in. Upon checkin into our room, then Tanishia called to make sure everything in the room was okay and if we needed anything. She had asked earlier if we needed access to mini bar which we told her no, so no issue with ancillary charges. She also offered a complementary refrig brought to room but we opted out for that since we're staying just one night. Kudos #3... Guest service department an extension of hotel services. Hotel compares to an Intercontinental, less a bit of opulence. Room was immaculate, beds firm, pillows great for sleeping, towels big and plenty, Spa accoutrements in bathroom, size able closet, Great Deadbolt Security lock in room, a safe in room up high for tall people to reach, large HD TV, and finally Happy and p,wasn't room attendants acros the board. Kudos #4. Happy employees and great employees. All around. Great hotel, extremely well managed putting customers first. Great job Mohegan! We'll stay here all the time from here out.

Room Tip: 22+ floor for great views, and rooms away from elevator for quiet.

Visited Mohegan Sun with my husband for two days (3/26-3/28). I'm so glad we selected The Sun for a decompression getaway.

I've been here a few times before, both to stay over and on day trips. The hotel and casino are absolutely beautiful and I never feel bored there. There is so much detail on the floors, the walls and the ceilings that it's a shame more people don't look up and around while they're walking through the facility.

Our room was immaculate, equipped with a flat screen tv and comfortable chairs, as well as a desk and plenty of drawer and closet space. There is a coffee maker on board (and the usual treat bar, which we never touch), but you have to request a small fridge if you want one. The bed was super-comfy, with plenty of pillows (extras in the closet, along with an extra blanket). The bathroom is plenty large for two people to move around in, with double sinks and a separate toilet area. Sundries include shampoo, conditioner and body lotion (but no body wash, which I missed), more than enough soap, a shower cap and a vanity set, enough towels to satisfy anyone. Water pressure was excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The toilet, as someone mentioned, was a little loud, but considering the height of the building, it's a necessity, and we never heard anyone else's. Room temps were easy to regulate. Guests are quietly encouraged to "go green" by electing to have bed linens changed every other day rather than each day, which makes absolute sense to me. One thing I found interesting was that there is no more need for the "do not disturb" signs we're all so used to looking for; instead, you press a button inside your door to indicate you don't want to be disturbed, and a light outside alerts the housekeeping staff to pass your room.

Our room was the first off the elevator banks but we never heard any sounds that distrubed us. The elevators themselves come quickly and quietly. You must display your room key to the attendant at casino level to access the elevator banks.

Casino and hotel staff were all helpful and friendly. Restaurants, even the casual ones, are a bit pricey, but we were satisfied with the service and quality of food at all the ones we visited - Bobby's Burger Palace, Geno's Fastbreak, Imus Ranch coffee shop. The $10-per-person breakfast buffet for Momentum card holders was well worth the price - the incredible variety of offerings (including some gluten-free) gave us an opportunity to try things we don't usually have.

Each casino has its own theme, well worth a walk through all of them to experience the variety and the atmosphere. I've been to other casinos where I've played a slot machine for hours and saw a waiter/waitress maybe once or twice; at the Sun, service was frequent and delivery was quick, always friendly and always accurate. And the drinks actually had some alcohol in them, which isn't always the case, I found, at other places :D. Restrooms throughout were clean and well maintained.

I had a great time and am looking forward to going back very soon. I'm just an ordinary player, but I really felt special at Mohegan Sun.

I was a guest for a concert visit so I cannot speak for the price, but the accomodations were great, updated very clean, great bedding, pillows, mattresses. Ate at Toscany restuaurant, food was excellent. Breakfast buffet was very good as well. Casino and mall/shopping area are beautiful.

Spent one night at the hotel. We were given a beautiful suite that had an amazing view, beautifully decorated rooms. Our suite even had two bathrooms. Bed was more comfortable than most that I've experienced and it was very clean. We will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed at the Mohegan Sun Hotel in mid-March. Came to see a basketball game, have dinner and spend the night.

The hotel is very nice;everything clean and in perfect order. I was worried about it being smokey (being a casino and all). Not bad at all. Casino air system worked pretty well, as long as the smokers were not too close. No issues with smoke smells in the room at all.

Arena is a great place to see a basketball game; not overly big.

Had some leftovers from dinner. Decided to stick them in the minibar refrigerator. The damn thing has pressure switches and charges you once you move anything. Be careful.

Very nice rooms, great staff. Rooms are pricey and crazy they charge an amenities fee for valet and wifi. If I want valet I will pay for it, you dont need to add a fee to my room charge. But nice rooms and would stay here again if I got a better deal.

Room Tip: The higher the better the view
