“I Won Big Here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013

This is actually my favorite casino even before I won really big here.

The casino layout is circular so you never really get lost, just going in circles. Unlike Foxwoods which will lead you to dead ends and you would have to walk back the way you came from. The slot machines are also newer here than Foxwoods.

I like the shops and restaurants here. My favorite is probably the Summer Shack because of the seafood and TVs. Bow and Arrow has fifty cent wings each night and a huge TV to watch sports. There is even an indoor waterfall. The place is really grand and well designed. There are nice tile designs throughout the casino and rooms.

I must admit, the hotel lobby is located at a weird place and really far away from self park, but I will let them slide on this because this really is a nice place.

On this particular Sunday afternoon, there is a 60s rock live performance and you see all the elderly people jiving happily on the dance floor. Suddenly, you hear a wolf howling loudly. Wow, it's a mechanical wolf on top of a slot machine! This place is nuts, but in a good way.

It is so crowded here during this weekend. Holiday weekend, perhaps? And the rooms are way too overpriced. But I will probably come again.

This was my first visit to Mohegan Sun and it was a pleasant surprise. The layout with high-end shops and restaurants mingled in with the casino activities is attractive. Food was great - though disappointed with Bobby Flay's - but beware of the poolside disco. We were given a room right beneath this - and the noise was unbearable. Had to be moved to another room. But otherwise the casino is great value for money, and everyone was very helpful and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review - we appreciate it!

We apologize for the noise you experienced due to our GLO at the Pool parties and the inconvenience of moving rooms - although we're happy to hear that the move solved the problem. GLO at the Pool parties run on Thursday and Saturday nights from roughly Memorial Day through Labor Day. As we work to better manage the volume, we hope the information is helpful for any future visits so that we can place you in a quieter location.

Stayed at Mohegan Sun for a concert and got a great deal on their site for a mid-week stay which included 2 concert tix, a beautiful room and a $25 drink comp at the Tuscany waterfall bar all for less than $350. We drove up and the valet parking was included. We checked in and received our concert tix and room info. We got a beautiful, clean room on the 27th floor. It smelled of soap in the hallways which was so pleasant. The bathroom was huge with sliding doors and a private stall which was great for us girls getting ready at the same time. It was a nice clean room. We had dinner at Tuscany which was amazing. This is the 3rd concert I've seen at Mohegan and its a great arena for shows. After the show we gambled a bit. Bummed ben and Jerry's closes earlier during the week than on the weekends, but Johnny Rockets was still going strong. We signed up for players cards and they are running a promotion right now which comes with a food comp at their seasons buffet. Even if you don't get the comp, the breakfast buffet is about 12 bucks which is a steal for the amazing spread they have. Hot, cold, omelette station, fruit, it was so good. Overall, it was an amazing stay. In a pinch I've stayed at a local hotel for concerts since its pricier on the weekends to stay at Mohegan, but if you can get a good deal, its so worth it. I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Request a higher floor-call day of.

I stayed here this weekend and it took an hour at the pool to get a drink. One waitor for 100 people on a 90 degree day... We called for our room to be cleaned 3 times and they came at 6pm while I was showering to get ready for dinner reservations. Oh and we had no toilette paper or towels in the room to use. Pretty place but not staffed adequately.

This place is beautiful. The casino is mostly under one roof and not broken up into different ones. A real plus. As with Foxwoods, one has to have the ability to really walk to see all. I would recommend so sort of an indoor taxi service for both Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods if they wish to get the most out of their hotel casinos. The older crowd with all the money can't do all that walking, including myself, so something has to be created. Other wise, enjoy yourself.

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are gorgeous. The bedding is luxurious. The pool is great. They open the sides of the pool during nice weather so you feel like you are outside. Look for deals. They do exist!

Had an overnight Golf Package at the Mohegan Sun ... WOW!! What a place! Hotel staff was wonderful and helpful with our accomodations. The room was spacious, immaculate and very comfortable. The bathroom area was wonderfully roomy with a separate commode area.
Towels were soft and fluffy.
We took an 8 am Orient Point Ferry on Tuesday- played golf at the Norwich Golf Course (a public course) that was picturesque and very pleasant. After our round, we had less than a ten minute drive to the Mohegan Sun Hotel. Valet parking was efficient and courteous. Hotel staff was helpful and we were more than pleased with our room.
We spent the evening at the casino, dining at Michael Jordan's Steak House (pricey, but good).
Our package included golf at the Mohegan Sun Country Club at Pautipaug -- a private course open to Mohegan Sun hotel guests. Both courses we played were wonderful. While there was much work being done at the Country Club at Pautipaug, the groundstaff was more than courteous, stopping all noise when players were teeing or taking a stroke. This course is being improved and somewhat renovated. We were told that the organization had spent over three million dollars in the last year improving drainage and improving the grounds. The fairways were great and the greens were in more than excellent condition. This was an excellent "play'n stay" overnight vacation! /although the check-out timer at the hotel is 11 a.m., because we were golfing, the hotel staff allowed us to leave our things in our room and check out after our round. This allowed us a little "fresh-up" time after golf andf we checked out at 5 pm without any additional charges. The Mohegan Sun facility is a "wonderment" and a "must see" whether you're a gambler or not!!
