We have been staying at the Tolland Inn for over 15 years, and it just keeps getting better. The newest suite in the rear 2nd floor has it all: wonderful gas fireplace, great views/light from the many windows, very private/quiet, plenty of room and a hot tub. Susan and Stephen were great hosts, as always, and breakfast was delicious. I saw the new king bed that Steve is building -- it should be in the new suite soon (the queen we had was very good -- also built by Steve -- but this will be even better). We'll probably go back over the summer to stay in that room and enjoy it. Steve makes all the furniture (beds, dining tables, tables, light fixtures, etc.) himself in their on-site workshop. Did you know he made the organ keyboard console for Boston Symphony Hall? A must-stay in New England, in my opinion anyway. We've used it as a base for Brimfield, Mohegan Sun, even Boston.

My wife, Jeannie and I have stayed at the Tolland Inn twice, once in '04 and again this past June, both times on our way to Martha's Vineyard. It is a quiet, romantic, lovely inn on a beautiful town square. The rooms are incredibly restful and nicely appointed reflecting New England beauty and charm. The breakfast, served family style was absolutely delicious. The innkeepers, Susan and Steve are most gracious. In June the new suite #7 was under construction and is now completed and looks beautiful on the website. Located just off the interstate this inn makes a nice place for a stop over, yet next year we plan to make that stop over for two nights simply to enjoy the inn and surrounding area. The rates are reasonable and fine restaurants are within easy reach. We have visited some 32 country inns in recent years and the Tolland Inn is now one of our top favorite inns.

“Tolland Inn - even better than we expected”

My wife and I stopped at the Tolland Inn late in September on our way to Vermont and Maine, and I wanted to tell your members just how pleased we were.

To begin with, our room was beautifully decorated, full of nice details, and sparkling clean. The location, right on Tolland Green, is both picturesque and convenient to restaurants and other attractions. Steve and Susan, the innkeepers, are delightful people, and Steve cooked one of the best breakfasts we have had in two decades of b&b travel. His craftsmanship throughout the house is very impressive, none more so than the newly renovated #7 suite, which was just being finished when we were there.

Unlike the case with many B&Bs, the web site [-] doesn't overstate things a bit! Oddly it does not have a picture of the Inn (a painting of some sort instead), so we have included one.

We both felt that the price of our room was very reasonable for the quality of the accommodations, and we'll definitely stay there again when the opportunity presents.
