“A Good Place To Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2007

This is a very nice hotel and has far more amenities than anticipated. The rooms are average but very clean and comfortable. All rooms are suites so there are some guests that stay for long periods. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was fully booked and it was not noisy in any way.
What makes this hotel stand out from the crowd is the free "managers reception" from approximately 5:30 on till all is gone (?), there were appetizers, both hot and cold, beer, wine and soft drinks for the guests. It is a very pleasant surprise and very welcome after a days worth of meetings or sightseeing. Oh, and as this hotel is on a hillsidethey have an excellent patio overlooking the river. A glass of free wine and a nice view is a good way to unwind.
Again, a very good hotel for business travelers or if staying a bit longer for folks with families. I highly recommend this hotel.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2007

I stayed in this hotel the weekend of April 14th for my sister's wedding. She had everyone stay there since it was centrally located off of the Merritt and close to the reception and church. All of us stayed at one end of the hotel on the same floor which was nice because we could go between rooms with no problems and leave our doors open. We were also pretty loud at night - so we didn't disturb guests since it was all us at that end of the hotel.

I had a studio room on the second floor with one queen bed in it. The room was nice and spacious with a kitchen and good size bathroom.
The windows opened too which was great since i love to have the windows open at night. The highway noise didn't bother me at all. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

On the negative side: I was in a non-smoking room, but the room definitely smelled of smoke - opening the windows helped alleviate the smoke smell. Also, I thought the continental breakfast was a little disappointing - not too many choices. Since I didn't have a car - I didn't have any other option.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2006

My family of four stayed in a two bedroom suite for two nights in July 2006. Our first suite was at the corner of the building facing the highway (Route 15). The noise of traffic was so great that we adults had trouble sleeping. We requested a suite on the opposite side of the building. Much more quiet, although it faced a parking lot!
The rooms were clean, with only minor issues (e.g. a slow-flushing toilet). The hallway, however, had a horrible musty smell. Someone had set the thermostat in the room to 59 degrees, and it took overnight to get the place to warm up!!
The breakfast was okay, nothing special. There is seating outside on the deck with a nice view.
We had no problems with connectivity using the wireless internet service.
During our stay, the spa was out of order, and the pool area had no towels. It took several requests to finally get towels delivered. The equipment in the workout room was operational, but not a large selection.
To get to an area with grocery stores, shops and restaurants, go left out of the hotel, then the second left (Warren Hill or Warner's Hill), follow this road several miles, past Route 8, and go left at the light (I think it is Route 108, but it's fairly obviously a main drag). Lots of familiar chain restaurants, etc.

Stayed at the hotel during late June/Early July, 2004. Rooms were very clean, staff friendly, no bar or restaurant in hotel though buffet breakfast served each morning.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay there again on my next visit to Connecticut.

Stayed at this Hotel Twice in February 2003. All rooms are suites and they are quite nice. Hotel was built about a year ago and is in very good condition and very clean. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi as well. Very good value and very well run place. No restaurant in the hotel, but I think there are several within a close drive. A buffet breakfast is served in a room off the lobby every morning.
