My stay at Another Second Penny Inn is a few years old now, but the visit is still fresh . My daughter and I wanted to visit Mystic Seaport one summer and we were looking for an historic Bed and Breakfast to stay in. My daughter found Another Second Penny Inn and I am glad she did. We had taken a leisurely trip from Long Island and arrived in New London having traveled on the ferry that disembarks from Orient Point. Once in New London, it was a short few miles to the front door of the Inn. Beautifully maintained and furnished, Another SEcond Penny Inn was a mixture of American elegance and rustic simplicity. Sandra and Jim were impeccable hosts and served delicious breakfasts each morning. Conversation was easy and Sandra made the guests at the breakfast table feel comfortable with one another.
The room we stayed in was beautiful and had a large four poster bed as well as a day bed. There was wi- fi and a television included but also writing utensils and a desk. Each evening, Sandra put out scrumptious cookies to bring up to your room, or savor in the parlor which made the stay even more special. What was really an advantage in selecting this Inn, was the specials it offered. These included package deals, which we were interested in, that offered dinners in great local eateries and admission to Mystic Seaport. The price was great and well worth taking them up on.
I am planning to make another trip to Mystic soon, and without question will stay at Another Second Penny Inn. By the way, the name of the Inn comes from the fact that the owners, who come from California ( most B&B ownders seem to be transplants from this state I think) had a boat called the Second Penny. They have another boat which they called Another Second Penny, so you see where I am going with this. Stories like this make the visit even more intimate and memorable. I highly recommend this Inn.
