“Great Hotel, Beds uncomfortable”

Sheraton Hotel Stamford

The hotel was immaculate. It was especially nice for businesspeople. In the lobby, there were computers available for use, but they were not complimentary, as stated in another review. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. While we were there, there was a prom going on, but to our surprise, we were not disturbed whatsoever. The pool was nice, and you did not see many little kids around it since it was 4ft-5ft deep. The fitness center was adequate to supply as many people as there were there.
Overall, this was an extremely nice hotel, but the beds were extremely soft. I personally do not like soft beds, and woke up with a backache, which took me the whole day to get over.
I would recommend this hotel for those who are able to sleep on soft beds lol.

“Nice Facility, Beds Horrible”

We stayed one night at this hotel on April 22. We selected the hotel based on proximity to our destination. The hotel looks new and the staff was very nice. The rooms were clean. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable for two people. Every time one person moved in the bed, the other person was tossed around. In addition, the HVAC system kept us up as it turned on and off all night. Since the windows don't open, we needed it on with 4 in the room, and every time we set the fan to "low" it would automatically switch back to "auto" after a few minutes. We are still recovering from our lack of sleep that night.

“Nothing to write home about”

Sheraton Hotel Stamford

Not the greatest bang for our buck!! We paid 126.00 a night. Front desk woman who checked us in was rude and we didn't really feel "welcome". It was like she was doing us a favor by even acknowledging our presence. There was also a large party or some event going on that was quite loud into the evening. It would have been nice if the hotel staff would have told us to expect some level of noise because they had a large party. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable. Only place to eat out was IHOP which was enjoyable. Big hotel, not user friendly at all...

I arrived in the evening and received a warm greeting from the front desk. I signed up for the Starwood Preferred Guest program prior to checking in. They have rooms reserved just for Starwood Preferred guests (there's a door plate stating so outside of the room). I had a robe in the closet and a complimentary bottle of water. The view was looking at at the front of the hotel. Those are the only upgrades that I think were part of the program. Otherwise the rooms were pretty nice. I enjoyed the long desk, I could really spread out my work. They have a thermosat for ac and heat, which I like. The toiletries were OK (Pantene shampoo and conditioner, Vasoline body lotion), I actually prefer Marriott's Bath & Bodyworks products better. They also included Caswell Massey bath gel, but I didn't get a chance to use it. The one very minor thing I didn't like about the room is that the TV did not show the numbers as I was surfing, so I couldn't just punch in the number to get back to my original shows. Again, very minor.

I ate both in the dining room and room service. I received more upbeat service during room service. During dinner, the servers were very quiet and could have been more attentive. Breakfast in the dining room was good, I just had the continental, which was around $14-15.00. The full buffet was around $18-$19.

I liked that they had a table in the lobby of approximately 6 internet ready computers that were complimentary. They offered a shuttle to nearby areas and it was very busy in the morning with guests needing to go to different corporate locations. The good thing though is they had several shuttles running, so you didn't have to wait for long.

The hotel is on a main road and is walking distance to a shopping center with an Old Navy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Staples, Michaels and other shops and small restaurants.

Overall, it was nice stay and if in the area, I wouldn't mind staying here again.

“So so Stamford Sheraton”

Sheraton Hotel Stamford

Sep 25, 2006

The hotel is reasonably new so the place does not yet feel too run down and the rooms are a good size, clean and pleasant, but it is not able to offer the levels of service it should to justify the prices they seek, or the image they project on the web. The location is some way from the train station and this is made a critical problem by the hopelessly haphazard shuttle service, which twice left me waiting for nearly an hour and does not seem to have agreed pick up points and they happily returned without picking up their clients. So be prepared to pay about $11-13 each way for a cab. The hotel also misses the mark for business travellers using the Club level facilities where the breakfasts are basic and very poorly substituted over weekends. In the Club lounge the large screen is usually set to play soaps or chat shows very loudly day and night. The staff are willing but badly trained and seem to get little help from a rather junior management. The rooms have poor provision for computer equipment power and no fridge. I found mould on the shower curtain and cracked tiles in the bathroom of the room first allocated. It also suffered noise from adjoining ice and vending machines. I was moved after the second day of asking.
