Should you be traveling with your dog and you need a hotel in Stamford, Connecticut both I and my dog, Oakley a Labrador Retriever would only name one place: The Stamford Sheraton.

Here is a hotel that welcomes dogs up to 80 pounds a rare find in hotels these days. The king size beds are "doggone" comfortable with enough room where he and I can both stretch out and sleep soundly.

Need to go out for a walk you say? Scalzi Park is a few blocks away and can be easily reached by a 10 minute walk. Should you become hungry please visit John The Baker who makes the most delicious pizza. Plus the crusts or as I call them Pizza Bones make a nice treat for your four legged friend.

So pack your bags, set aside your worries and rest easily while staying at the Stamford Sheraton.

This hotel is a great loation in Stamford. It's minutes from downtown Stamford, offers good access to major highways, and other places of interest in Fairfield County. The hotel staff is friendly. Great healthclub. I stay there often for business travel, and recomend it to anyone traveling to the area.

“Adequate”

I stayed here for one night on a weekend. It was adequate. I had a room facing the front on the fourth floor. The room was slightly larger than average with a king bed and a couch. I agree that this property was built a while ago but there have been attempts to keep it up to date. The bed was fine although the comforter seemed to be needing a cleaning and moving it to see an old pilled cotton blanket that barely covered the surface was not the most pleasant thing. Bathroom is motel style with an alcove with a sink and a small separate room with a toilet and shower, which was extremely cramped. Towels were adequate as were amenities. TV had been cleaned many times, the coating was rubbed off the screen in spots. Staff were uniformly courteous.

This property is about a mile away from downtown. If you are dedicated Starwood and only need a night or two it's definately fine.

We payed $617 for four nights (Thu-Sun) in a room with a king-sized bed and "sleeper sofa". I have fragrance sensitivity and requested an upper floor room with a window that opens. We ended up on the second floor. None of the windows in this hotel open. Some of the rooms have "windows" over the central lobby/bar/atrium. If you like quiet, you don't want one of those rooms. Our "window" faced outside and the room was reasonably quiet although we could hear the television next door. The bed is opposite the window and the long wall has a desk, television, dresser with a coffee table and sofa opposite. The size of the room was acceptable. The bed had no padding and was bouncy like a trampoline - not very comfortable at all. The sheets & towels had no apparent fragrance - thank goodness. The spare blanket & pillow in the closet most definitely were fragrance laden. The mattress on the sofa bed is a spring mattress - no padding - miserable. Because the bed was too bouncy for us to sleep on together. We took turns sleeping on the sofa seat cushions on the floor. The sofa seat cushions were more comfortable than the bed. The sheets were scratchy, as was the toilet paper. The shower curtain smelled of mildew. The fan does have an always on option for noise abatement, but it's "white noise" sound is not that pleasant. There is bottled water in the room when you arrive with tiny little signs telling you that your room will be charged $4.75 per bottle if you drink them. Ridiculous! These rooms do NOT have refrigerators despite what you may read on the internet. There was a small coffee maker and the usual coffee packets. There was an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. There was a nice-sized closet with ample wooden hangers. The decor was tasteful and the comforter on the bed was nice. They do not use triple-sheeting on the beds, so you get direct experience with the blanket used by all the guests before you - maybe they wash the blankets in-between guests. I had very little contact with hotel staff, so I can't comment on the service. Seems like this hotel is trying to be a high-end hotel, but without provide high-end basics like triple-sheeting and comfortable beds....I would not stay there again by choice.

“A great stay”

I stayed here on a layover March 8-9. I had no problems with check in it was very quick and was greated with a smile. I was on the 5th floor and my room was great. I did not have the problems that others have complained about like the hot water issue ( I had hot water in the morning and in the evening) and the musty smell. All I have to say is the bed was great, it was not too soft like others complained about. I slept all night and that is rare in a hotel bed. The hotel internet was perfect I had no problems at all. I used the gym and it is really good with alot of equipment and it was well stocked with towels and water. I did not eat in the restaurant as it was closed due to bar mitzfahs but I did have room service and the cobb salad was one of the best I have ever had in my life. Overall this is a good hotel and I would definately stay here again. The bathroom could use a little tlc as it looked slightly run down but I have no real complaints of this hotel.
