“Centrally Located in Stamford, CT”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

I had a really great experience at the Sheraton. The hotel staff was very accommodating, pleasant and professional. I enjoyed their "social hour" in which you partake in a wine tasting. The wines were rated 90+. Very close to the Stamford Town Center (mall) and with complimentary shuttle to the Metro North for quick access into NYC.

Room Tip: I would suggest requesting a King "accessible" room. You'll get a really large bath w...

Thank you for your review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed our Social Hour in the Lobby Lounge! We are also currently featuring Jazz saxophonist David Davis on Wednesdays for the Social Hour, and reviewing special hor dourves to pair with the particular wines being featured. The hotel now features three shuttles that travel within a 5 mile radius of the property, offering complimentary transportation to Stamford Town Center, the Metro North station in Stamford for that quick 30 minute train to Grand Central, and to several key corporate offices throughout the Stamford area.

Clean, quality service, perfect location and great value.

We stayed at Sheraton Stamford just fir one night but the front desk staff was helpful and kind, rooms were clean and location was in the middle of everything.

Our dog Chester enjoyed it too.

I stayed at this hotel for a conference and found the accommodations acceptable.

The lobby included a well-lit atrium with comfortable seating that was well-spaced and invited guests to chat and socialize. There were several computers with free internet access, and the wireless signal for laptop users was strong. Internet was free in the lobby but limited to two hours, and available for a charge in the guestrooms.

The beds were very comfortable with fantastic pillows, but the beds were on elevated platforms and higher than than usual. Water pressure was great but my room was on the third floor of the hotel.

The hotel was walking distance to Stamford Town Center and also a little downtown area. I stayed mostly in the hotel because of the conference, though, and didn't have time to explore the area. For a reasonable price, this would be a nice place to stay overnight if passing through the area.

Thank you for your review! We are so pleased that you were able to enjoy the Link powered by Microsoft, and that your accommodations were comfortable. You are correct that there are many things to do in the Stamford area if you have the time to explore, or the Metro North rail will take you to Grand Central in NYC in 30 minutes. Please don’t hesitate to ask for suggestions on your next stay- our Front Office team would be happy to tell you some of their favorite spots to visit!

This Sheraton has been recently remodeled in the new Westin style, and the lobby and rooms are up to standards. The restaurant is out in the open in the lobby, but the food is good and service is very friendly. Don't expect to be challenged by the cuisine, but the specials and the selection of wines will impress the cynical hotel traveler. No need to search around for a local place to eat - the restaurant is good enough.

The bar is a little noisy and out in the open, but still good.

The lobby is great - modern facilities including a conference table with electrical outlets for a team of 16 - almost every day there is a group having an impromptu work session. Every hotel needs one of these!

The gym is tiny, and some of the machines don't work. Expect it to be crowded in the morning.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on a low floor with an even number - you'll be greeted by food delivery tru...

Thank you for your review! You’ve touched on many areas that we have just improved! Our restaurant, 700 Main is about to introduce a new menu with the best of the ‘old’ selections and a variety of new cuisine. The Lobby Bar has enhanced it’s Wednesday night Social Hour with a variety of wines, hor dourves, and live music! Best of all, the Fitness Center has just received and installed all new state of the art, Life Fitness Equipment! Thank you again, and we hope you are able to take advantage of these new features on your next visit!

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst on business. Lobby on arrival appears fresh and new, unfortunately things change when you get out of the elevators to go to your room. Dated, vending machines, ripped carpet, dirty glasses and dishes on floor.....my first room was overlooking the top deck of a multi story car park directly below my window. Changed the room after a dog 2 rooms down kept barking for hours. Next room was at least quiet. Beds are the standard Sheraton beds, as such comfortable. Even so I am an SPG Platinum Lifetime member, they don't seem to bother, allocating you whatever room comes up- zero recognition. They were kind enough giving me 5000 points for inconvenience- which was a nice gesture, not that you get much for 5000 points. Breakfast in lounge is surprisingly nice. Cliental not necessarily what one would expect in a club lounge ie would not necessarily call it "professionals". If you are in Stamford on business and its convenient to stay, as long as you have zero expectation it's ok, otherwise stay in Greenwich or NYC and commute. Prob it did not help my experience that I had just stayed 4 nights at the St Regis in NYC and this was a culture shock. Some staff very very friendly, others with "attitude"- its certainly not SPG standard. I don't know if its a new property to Starwood, but staff can do with training and rooms with refurbishment. Glasses in the bathroom vs plastic cups would be good, had to get myself a glass from the lounge.

I've stayed at the Sheraton Stamford several times over the last few years for business. The level of service I've received from the entire staff is on par with the most expensive hotels I've stayed at. Everyone from registration to servers/bartenders to shuttle services to management goes out of their way to make your stay a good one. I highly recommend it to anyone!
