My husband and I visited our daughter in Brooklyn last weekend and we did not want to contend with NYC traffic. We had a lovely stay at the Hampton Inn, took a $6.00 taxi to the train station and were in NYC in forty minutes, then subway to Brooklyn. Had a pleasant visit and back in the hotel by 6:30 p.m. The room was big, immaculate and had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The lobby is lovely with a nice sitting area in which you can eat your free, hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, danish, fruit, juice and other breads and cereals. The staff and room service people were very, very nice and helpful. And all this for $98.00 a night!
At the rates NYC hotels are charging nowadays for a tiny and not so pleasant room, this may be the way we will now go for our next trips to the Big Apple.
