We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites on our way to NYC last Friday night and were so pleasantly surprised . It was such a nice, clean and new hotel. Our room was very large w/a very nice bathroom. The foyer was very nice to walk into and there was a nice italian restuarant there. They serve a free bkfst buffet which was mainly cereal, bagels, etc. but w/juice, and coffee and fruit. There is a very nice room to have the bkfst in. We would definitely stay there again on our way to NY or if we were in the area.

“An oasis in a desert!”

Hampton Inn Stamford

Having spent too much time in small downtown New York hotels, (where space is always at a real premium), arriving at the Hampton Inn was refreshing to say the least.

Located just off I95, with direct access to Manhattan, the hotel, (part of the Hilton group), is about three years old and looking fresh as a daisy!

The lobby area is spacious and well furnished, the rooms are huge and again, well appointed, the bathrooms are large and clean and the wireless is complimentary and fast! Add free parking, an extensive continental breakfast and pleasant staff to the equation, throw in affordable room rates for good measure and you have a winning formula.

Highly recommended!

Not easy to find affordable lodging in the Stamford area. Believe it or not this pricey property at $152 was one of the least expensive. That said, we've always been satisfied with Hampton and this one was no different. In fact it was really more like a Hilton. Very classy hotel. Apparently newly renovated. Our king room was VERY roomy and comfortable. CLEAN! Though it is in the 'city', we would never have known it by the view out our window through the trees - overlooking the terrace which was filled with flowers, tables and chairs. Full breakfast, served in a lovely breakfast room or you could take it out on the patio. Good service. No complaints.

“Great Hotel before or after a NYC trip”

Hampton Inn Stamford

This is a nice hotel to stay at before or after a trip into NYC. We just got back from a weekend in the city, but couldn't find a place to stay Saturday night. So we booked here. After a wonderful day in NYC, dinner, and a show (see Spamalot!) - we drove just one hour to Stamford and stayed at the Hampton Inn. What a pleasant surprise!

The neighborhood coming off the highway looked a little dicey, but the hotel was clean, well lit, with a parking garage (free, of course). The staff was pleasant and efficient. The room was HUGE, with a comfy bed, desk, chairs, TV, fridge, microwave, and big bathroom.

The continental breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare (nothing to write home about, but certainly enough to get us going on our day). Also apparently there is an evening reception with food and beer/wine/soda. We didn't partake since we didn't get there until midnight and left the next morning.

We definitely recommend the Hampton Inn as a place to stay in Stamford or as a way-station to NYC.

“Convenient stop off for New York trip”

Good room with comfy beds.Full breakfast with wide choice of food.Convenient parking. We used the free shuttle to the station and then travelled into New York - less than an hour by train. Hotel was happy to store our luggage while we spent 2 days and an overnighter in New York.
We did walk into Stamford during the evening and went to a Sports Bar. A lively, friendly town but the walk from the hotel - although short - was through a rather unlit and undesirable neighbourhood.
Good value to stay there during the weekend but more expensive during the week.
