Kotobuki is a wonderful little gem of a restaurant. Don't expect a lot in terms of decor. The owner and sushi chef Masa has the best Sushi around. I highly recommend the fluke fin which is hard to find in most sushi restaurants.

I have been a patron of this place for over 15 years. Over the years I have found that the food is "just ok" and the staff isn't very nice. The guy making the susie, Masa, never smiles anymore. He has this look on his face that is not appealing at all. The interior needs a total overall, it looks tired. There is more and more competition coming in and this place will not make it if it doesn't get it's act together and make changes right now...
I am sad this is happening...

My favorite Japanese restaurant in the area. The USA Fujifilm headquarters is located in Stamford and Kotobuki is the Japanese restaurant of choice for the Japanese employees. I've eaten there numerous time and agree with the locals....it's fantastic. Located in the heart of downtown Stamford, CT

I am off to Japan again on Monday (I go several times a year) and I can say that the food here is authentic, high quality and always delicious. For the price, you will be very hard pressed to find this quality anywhere else in the area. They put the money where it matters the most, in the quality of the food. Okay, so they do not have the extra money to redecorate... They they are still in business in these hard economic times says an a lot about the staying power of authentic, excellent Japanese cuisine.
