If you don't go expecting haute Italian (or anything fancy) you will enjoy a solid meal at a reasonable price.
We were a party of two so our menu samplings were a bit limited. However, what we ordered was consistently good. The salads were crisp and fresh and our chickens (in salad and as main course) well prepared and moist. (Regrettably, we didn't sample the mandatory test of any Italian restaurant - the pasta). Presentation was also good.
The wait staff was 'casually' efficient. The ambiance was fine.
That the Cafe rates a "very good", however, is as much a testimony to the available value proposition in Stanford as to the solid food, well presented.
