“Excellent food, but waitstaff/kitchen overwhelmed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2014

The food was great. Fish, salads, soup, dessert - all top quality, well prepared. The waitstaff were pleasant, but clearly harried. The restaurant was packed, the kitchen was way behind (over 1.5 hours from order to dinner).

Would definitely go back, but maybe on an off night. They just aren't staffed to handle the number of people that they are trying to put through the restaurant on a busy night.

“Fine food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

Artisan is among the best restaurants in the area. We like the outdoor dining area and the happening scene at the bar. Would definitely recommend when in the Southport area.

“Wonderful Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

For a person who loves brunches and could actually have breakfast at any time of the day the Sunday Brunch at Artisan is not to be missed. The selections include a Mimosa or Bloody Mary -- I had the bloody with prefect spices (grated horseradish that tasted fresh). The selections are not the ordinary brunch fare ... each offering something slightly different from what you see on the typical brunch menu. Our group of four had the Sunday Brisket, Gravlax Benedict , Artisan's Casserole, and a wonderful hamburger (for those who are no breakfast inclined). All had rave reviews. Sharing a Rum-espresso chocolate mousse Ganache-langue de chat cookie was the perfect ending. Reservations are a must at this popular spot although there is a bar where you might grab a seat if you want to take a chance on a last minute brunch decision.

“Perfect Patio”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2014

Great setting for a cocktail on the patio on a warm summer evening. Very good burgers and fish & chips in the bar room.
