I booked my stay through the Holiday Inn website and paid 113 a night. My friend booked through AAA and paid 117 a night. We stayed at the Southington, Holiday Inn Express on July 5th & checked out on the 6th. Check in is at 3pm and check out is 11am. When we arrived our room was not ready, but they had another room available. The hotel provides carts for you to bring your luggage to you room. Our room was nice and clean and the a/c was on so the room was nice and cold. The room are standard rooms, with about 4 or 5 pillows on each bed and one on the top draw. The room has no closet but they have a cabinet that houses an iron, iron board and hangers. The bathroom was big (compared to our apartment at home) and can house about 2 people. They have a large three mirror near the sink, which is nice, but scary (if, you are a large person like me. LOL!!) The walls are thin. Found out the next day they had a baseball team (teenagers in the rooms next to us, they were knocking on the doors in the wee morning and had the tv on loud. But for one night the hotel was ok. The pool was a bit dirty with cigarette butts on the floor. They have a latch for the pool which is fenced in, they also had lounge chairs and 2 tables with umbrellas. The pool water was ICE cold and contained lots of colorful noodles for the older children. The hotel is 3 stories tall top floor houses people who smoke. Everything was clean and close by to lots of restaurants and local stores, supermarkets, gas stations and Lake Compounce.
