“Great cheesecake not so great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012 via mobile

Went in for a dessert for a dinner party. Cheesecake was excellent but a bit expensive. Service needs improvement a bit of an attitude because I asked questions about ingredients I just wanted to be sure if anyone asked

“A sweet little gem in Shelton”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

Recently had dinner at Stockbridges and it was excellent. A succulent New England beef stew was superb while the Shepard's pie was excellent. The atmosphere is cozy, the wait staff is attentive and the cheesecake is fantastic. Add in very reasonable prices and you have the makings for a great little restaurant.

“Great place for breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

This place is really lovely. Its clean, friendly and has really good food! Sometimes simple is a beautiful thing. Their Eggs Benedict is to die for, and will keep you coming back again and again. Yes, its small, and can get crowded. However, its a really fine food experience. I suppose you have to be relaxed when it comes to service. It's like where Colorado meets Connecticut. Breathe, be calm...and simply wait to enjoy. How nice not to be hurried.

“Not attentive service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012 via mobile

3rd time eating here, food is tasty but not returning due to service.

Breakfast with my husband was wonderful in food category. Service however was slow and unattentive. Even longer for the bill to be brought to the table. At one point i asked one of the 3 servers if there was a confusion on whos table it was, response was no we know whos table it is, which at this point i went to register and asked for the check and then paid.

Lunch for 3 with easy order, hamburger, salad, Mac and cheese. Waters empty with no refill, Ice tea was refilled once not after, plates taken promptly, dessert we never got asked, we actually went to display case and then had to request what we wanted and had to ask for it to be brought to the table. Still no water refill.

Over all good food, great desserts, bad service. Three different days at different times all bad!

“Nice Cafe with the best cheesecake ever!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

We visited Stockbridge's Cafe while spending time with family in Shelton. There were 5 of us dining for brunch that ordered a variety of menu items. It isn't often that you can say that EVERYTHING was just delicious!!! - raspberry white chocolate pancakes (seriously the best pancakes we have had anywhere), stuffed french toast, Trail mix salads etc. But make sure you save room for dessert- their cheesecake is the best anywhere!! It was light, creamy and flavorful. Don't leave without trying it!!

The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. The service was great. The only thing I can say is I wish we had a Stockbridge's in our town.
