“Back to his roots!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Tomasso has come back. Back to his roots and his wonderful Italian cooking. Meatballs and veal Parmesan to die for. All food cooked to order, and worth the wait. His tiramisu when he makes it is top-notch.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

This is my first review ever written.Bravo reminds me of my youth where the emphasis was on quality and relaxation at dinner.Yes it takes a little longer but it taste like home.No texting was apparent just conversation with other human beings. What a novel Idea. Was it the best restaurant I ever eaten at?No.But one that was enjoyable if your intentions are to coantact with people in an relaxed envirnoment.Bravo to Bravo

“It's okay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2013

My husband and I were very excited to try the "new" restaurant in Rocky Hill after waiting for it to open. Little did we know being newer to the area, that this is just Tomasso's in disguise. A few pro's- the food was good and it was nice to relax in town. But with all the other italian restaurants around, this one is the worst in my opinion.

First of all, we sat at the bar, which is fine for us and we did not want to wait for a table, of which there were few. There was a large party near us, in the middle of the large area in the back, to which added to the atmosphere and caused it to be very loud. Also, since they had about 7 bottles of wine on the table, when I ordered wine, the waitress did not have a wine glass to give me, so I had to wait for one to become available. Mind you- the restaurant is very, very small. About 3 bistro tables, 4 booths, and if the large party wasnt there, probably only 4 other tables available.

Also, about halfway during our dinner, we had another patron come in and sit near us and talked to his buddy cursing every other word really loudly.

At times, it just felt very awkward to be there, like everyone in there knew the owner and was being treated as such, and "outsiders" were just served their food and go on their way. I'm still convinced Tomasso opened this restaurant up to have a place where family/friends could come eat and gather and drink, and if other people showed up, its money in the bank.

I would not recommend this restaurant to others, as there are too many other Italian restaurants in the area that far exceed this one.

“to the over charged people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

Dont understand if the server made a mistake on your bill then gave you the differance in cash, there souldn't be a problem. As far as you put it waiting for bread &oil. We have olive oil on every table i'm sorry you mist that.,asfar as the bread we warm every loaf it may take a few minutes,But besides it was Valentines Day with a full Dinning Room may be you need some patients. And further more what ever happened to talk to a manager to resolve your problem ,thats what wrong with this system, everyone rushes to this computer and writes what ever you please weather it's write or wrog .and to finish up do you under stand what a ALL'a CART menu is .maybe you should try west hartford se if you get salad with your dinner or glastonbury avon,If you want a full coarse dinner you should expect to pay, we don't get anything for free when we order our food for the restaurant thats how buisness works.

“Overcharged”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2013

Food was ok. Waiter was horrible. We sat for a least 15 minutes before we got bread and oil.

We were overcharged for our dinners and realized it on the way out. The waiter paid us in cash what we were overcharged and gave some reason about different menus??.

We all said this place will go out of business. Nothing stays open in this location and there was nothing special to keep this new Restaurant open. My sons said they should give each table a big salad to share. He's right! People would love a table salad and bread... costing pennies for the owner yet making everyone happy to eat while they wait (A LONG TIME) for their meals. Word of mouth would be "THEY GIVE YOU A BIG SALAD AND BREAD" right away. The owner could gouge you with the meal price and people would still be happy. salad al la cart is phoney.

Oh well. Maybe my sons will open a successful restaurant in Rocky Hill.
