“One of the worst restaurants I have ever experienced.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2009

I ate there twice. The first time I had Steak Frites. The steak was almost refrigerator cold, but the fries were extremely hot. The steak was tasteless and tough. Upon complaint the steak was heated up. Atmosphere was very good. Butter was excellent. Returned two days later. Ordered Sole Meuniere which was breaded (a first for me) swimming in butter and tasteless. But the absolute worst was dessert: crepes suzette. The crepes were under-cooked and thick and drowning in a glob of some kind of thick syrup like one might expect in a third class diner but worse. The service was awful (the place was about 2/3rds full) and the waiter kept referring to us as "youse" as in "this is the salad that youse ordered" I cannot understand the high ratings and do not believe the reviewers are talking about the same restaurant I experienced. Don't waste your time on this one.

“quaint, charming, and cozy with good food.”

This restaurant has a lot of atmosphere with good food. It's a higher-end establishment but worth the money.

“Authentic, Charming Spot With Great Food & Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2009

Situated in downtown Ridgefield, CT this adorable French cafe is authentic right down to the menu and countless decor reminders. The menu is typical French bistro fare, but moderately priced and served as if you were in a family run country restaurant in France. I highly recommend the moules marinieres, served in a Le Creuset pot. Everything down to the napkins and condiment containers are the "real deal". If you are wandering through this neck of the woods, grab lunch or dinner and sit outside under a Pernod Ricard branded umbrella. You'll feel as though you've taken a quick trip to Provence! Very nice and attentive staff. Great place.

“Favorite spot -- worth a drive from out of town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2009

Just plain love Luc's. We drive up from South Wilton. It's tiny, usually packed and always delicious. Really feels like escaping Fairfield County. We've enjoyed the live music on Wednesday nights and happily suppered long waits on Saturday nights (they do not take reservations for less than 4 people). Wide range of selection on the menu (many bistro/cafe classics) and good wine list. Usually good for a low-wattage star sighting as well.

“Casual romantic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2008

We love Lucs. The owner is lovely and welcoming and if you weren't in Ridgefield you would swear you were in the middle of a french bistro. The decor, the beams, stone walls and music take you out of CT and over to France. As a French major it gives me a little taste of francais without the airfare. The frites are hot, thin, crunchy and careful you could eat two bowlfuls! My husband loves the moules and I love the roast chicken or the sole done anyway. The staff are not always great, but easily forgiven as they are not the dominant players in our evening. It is a 20 minute drive from our home in Westport, but we are always happy to make the effort.
