“Great meal. Warm, friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

We had a terrific meal here. Fantastic pasta. Wonderfully warm, friendly service from the waiter and the chef/owner. The only off-note was the calamari appetizer -- it was clearly frozen (borderline freezer burned). But the rest of the food was just wonderful, and the service was tremendous.

“Underappreciated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

Ridgefield's many Italian restaurants run the gamut from pizzerias to white tablecloth, a surprising range for a town of 25,000. Spagone ranks in the Top 3. The menu is well beyond red sauce, the execution usually sophisticated, and the service knowledgable and attentive. Our clear choice when we're in the mood for Italian in town.

“80th Birthday hugh success!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Took mom here for 80th. Bob did a great job in meeting all our needs, but could have used a little more help. Food was excellent, best Italian in area.

“Felt like we were back in Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012 via mobile

We had gotten tickets to a show at the Ridgefield playhouse. As we were not familiar with the restaurants in the area we turned to Tripadvisor and picked Spagone. What a find. Our waiter had alot of personality and a good knowledge of food and wine. We picked a bottle of wine based on his suggestion. It was excellent. The menu looked so good my husband and I had a hard time picking we decided to split the paperdelle pasta and the osso bucco. The paperdelle was as good as a dish we had in Tuscany. The osso bucco just fell off the bone. So good. We ate earlier so it was pretty quiet in the restaurant. With the quality of the food you would expect a line out the door. We greeted the owner on the way out and he offered us some of his homemade limoncello. We enjoyed our chat with him as well as the drink. My husband proclaimed this one of the best restaurants in Ct and I would agree

“Our favorite restaurant in Ridgefield!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

When we want consistently excellent food and a sense of family, we think Spagone. Food is always fresh and beautifully prepared, and owner Michael and his staff make us feel as if we have joined them for a wonderful family dinner. In contrast to most restaurants, tables are set to allow each party a sense of personal space, something for which we are always grateful. This is a restaurant where you can really sit back, talk to your companions, and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed or bombarded by noise. If you have a particular food concern, Michael is happy to accomodate. Talking with Bobby, the head waiter, or having Michael pull up a chair for a brief chat is always something to which we look forward, and our biggest dilemma is how many competing dishes we want to order. Sauces are wonderfully spiced, and fish and meat moist and flavorful. Pasta is cooked al dente, unless you specify otherwise, and transports you to southern Italy. Try the cheese and pepper pasta, the silver snapper, or the steak, a few of our favorites. Oh, and one other thing- make sure to dip your bread in Michael's scumptious flavored olive oil. If you have room for desert, his ricotta cheesecake is fantastic. If not, perhaps a small glass of homemade limocello. You won't get better anywhere!
