Description: The Cellar Door Bistro has a unique style that brings American food to new levels. The menu was developed and inspired with an Italian influence and has both traditional and non-traditional items that are sure to please you. The master chef has an extremely comprehensive background that will always amaze you with both flavor and superb presentation. His desire to please customers of the Bistro always come through in the quality and presentation of the fabulous dishes. The beautiful decor of the restaurant has been developed by designers to have an upscale European Bistro feel with subdued lighting that will relax you upon arrival. The wine bar and lounge area was developed to be both fun and conservative at the same time. This has become a very popular spot for the gathering of couples, friends and singles since the inception. The staff and management are extremely personable with the desire to please, which is the restaurants main goal at all times.

“Nice little place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

met a friend for dinner and was impressed, will definitely be back. We sat at the bar and the chef came out with some very non-traditional 'happy hour' food. He explained he'd just returned from Milan and was taking a page from the restaurants he'd visited. The fare was nicely presented: arugula salad, meats and cheese, battered zucchini, crudites and...pizza! Was all very tasty.
Have to say the wine pours were a bit conservative, but the pricing was pretty fair, especially for the area. I ordered the salmon and risotto, my friend had the seafood pasta and we each enjoyed our meals. Risotto was a bit 'dense' and could would benefit from a touch of broth or something to keep it from coagulating on its way from the kitchen to table.
I would recommend The Cellar Bistro and my friend and I have already agreed that it is our new meeting place.
Btw, this was a Wednesday night and the dining room had a fair amount of people and about 5-6 people at the welcoming bar; nice, upscale feel due to the decor. Enjoy!

“A great addition to Ridgefield's restaurant scene”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013 via mobile

We're already planning our next visit! The scene inside is one of sophisticated comfort with a beautiful warm bar scene and decor that is overall a cut above the competition but it's the food that sells this place. We were in for a quick light lunch and we got just that: for three of us, an outstanding grilled veggie platter, a simple pizza with tomato, mozzarella, and basil cooked right before our eyes in a lovely pizza oven, and a veggie sandwich with a salad. All great, but we were coveting the Cobb salad, the pasta, the desserts and just about everything else we saw passing by. Speaking of staring at other people's orders: the cosmos were a perfect color and the rumor is the martini menu is quite fine. A delightfully civilized break! Enjoy!

Fabulous meal with exceptional martini's. Service was a little slow, but he was new to the restaurant. Bar atmosphere was relaxed and inviting.

“Tired of the Attitude”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Cellar Door thinks thet operate in Manhattan when they are in suburbia. They will ask you to come back every time after &PM because you dont have a reservation. I recently went there on a Sunday with at least a dozen empty tables and they were sending people (even with empty outside tables) for reasons unknown.

Word of advice...you operate in a town that is predominately a family town with 2-4 children who don't make reservations. To my knowledge, NO RESTAURANT IN Ridgefield requires such nonsense, Take your business over the border were you can get away with the attitude.

Your Pizzas are marginal at best and at $20 shameful.

“Interesting and moody decor. Like the glass top of the bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2013

Like their classic Italian dishes with modern variations.
The pizza is excellent. And then there's the fried dough...
