“Great weekend getaway”

Warm hosts, very knowledgeable about the area.
Rooms were very comfortable and spacious.
Breakfast was excellent. The pancakes and fresh maple syrup are not to be missed.
Great experience and a great value.

“great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

we spent a night at this great inn on our trip from boston to nyc. the house is very old and charming. our room was wonderful with wooden floors and beams on the ceiling. very spacious. very clean. innkeepers are really friendly and helpful and spoilt us with a great breakfast of waffles and home-made maple syrup. can definitely recommend this b&b, and would stay there again.

Room Tip: the captain's room is very spacious

“GREAT PLACE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

The owners are amazing people that made us feel home. The room was really nice, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast both mornings was awesome with homemade muffins, AWESOME coffee, cheese and egg casserole and pancakes with maple syrup from their tree... The location is great really close to the Interstate but quiet. Definetely the best B&B my husband and I have ever been to! We'll definitely be back and tell our friends to stay there!

“Friendly, Snacks, Fine Lodging, Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

The proprietors are among the most friendly and helpful that my wife and I have met. We arrived from I-84, which is close by, to find snacks, including chocolate cake! The room was fine and historic, but the amenities are first class and modern (nice shower, flat screen TV, etc.). The breakfast was just what my wife loves, and included home-made maple syrup! Special consideration is given to repeat customers.

“Warm and Friendly Welcome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

I wasn't sure about this B&B because of only one previous review but we were very pleasantly surprised to discover a warm welcome from practiced and pleasant innkeepers and a large comfortable room at the Captain Josiah Cowles Place. Located conveniently off the interstate but in a quiet neighborhood, it was the perfect place to spend a night after a long day's drive. The hosts have been in the innkeeping business for many years and know how to make guests welcome. We enjoyed their friendly company after a great dinner nearby and then arose the following morning to the incredible aromas of a breakfast that included waffles with homemade maple syrup and crispy delicious bacon. A wonderful stay. Do not hesitate! This is a very nice B&B.
