My wife and I had dinner here last night and thought the food, service and value were all in harmony to make it an enjoyable evening out to dinner. We had not been here in many years, in fact since it was called the Mo-No-Pole, a very popular family-owned landmark since the early 1950's. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, The other diners were a mix of older couples and plenty of twenty and thirty somethings. It was busy both in the dining room and informal bar areas. Service is prompt and friendly which adds to the dining experience. It is an unpretentious restaurant with a wide variety of dining choices ranging from pastas, chicken and fish entrees to rack of lamb and filet mignon, ALL at very reasonable prices. All entrees come with salad or soup and many also come with potato and vegetables. Most entrees are priced under $20.00 and there is nothing on the menu over $29.00 so there is exceptional value here.
The items we ordered were delicious. Clams casino were served piping hot in the pan they were made in. They were large, meaty, and super! My wife had a chicken soup with black-eyed peas that was rich and loaded with vegetables. My entree of cavatappi with bolognese sauce was delicious, with large pieces of steak rather than ground beef. My wife's chicken marsala was also very good. We passed on dessert as the portion sizes are more than ample. We would definitely plan to eat here again.
