“Surprisingly nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed here 1 night. The room was very clean. We had a king executive suite that also had a pull out sofa bed. They have a pool and jacuzzi that are both indoors. They had complimentary breakfast for all of the guests. the bathroom and linens were very clean. it was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. I would stay here again.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Plainville, Connecticut was a great hotel for our needs during our 1 Night Stay to visit Central Connecticut State University. The hotel is very clean and modern. The front desk area and breakfast area were appealing and cozy with a nice fireplace. The staff was very nice and kind. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The breakfast options were rather limited but it satisfied my family's needs. There was a nice business center located in the lobby, but we did not use it. Just beyond the lobby there is a hallway that leads to the laundry, exercise room, and pool. The laundry room and exercise room looked sufficient for a guest's needs (again we did not use it because we were only here for 1 night). The pool area was rather small, but there was barely anyone in the hotel so it worked out great. The whirlpool was a decent size. Beyond the pool is the elevators. Our room, 111, was located on the first floor. We booked a Double Queen room to accommodate our family of four. The room was modern, clean and relatively spacious. The bathroom had Pantene products and nice towels. The shower had modern subway tiles, and the vanity had granite. Pretty nice for a $118 room. The beds were okay. The desk area was nice, and the closet and dresser had enough storage. Flat-screen TV in room was nice. A little issue with the in-room safe, but we were barely in the room it didn't matter, so we never used it. Overall, great room. The location of the hotel was in the small town of Plainville. The reason we went to this hotel was to attend an event at CCSU. The 10 minute drive was great and easy. Easy 15 minute drive to West Farms Mall. The area surrounding the hotel was okay. Only a few restaurants nearby. But in all, this hotel is a great option for visiting CCSU, the mall and nearby attractions.

Stayed at this hotel for points while visiting family prior to taking a 2 month cross country trip. We have stayed here before and find the rooms to be better than average, clean with comfortable beds. The staff is very friendly. Especially enjoyed conversing with Nancy at breakfast both mornings. She really makes you feel at home.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Having realized that when going to NYC for the weekend, we can maximize our time by getting a head start on Friday night, this hotel is an ideal place to break up the trip. Even though it is right next to the highway, the noise is no worse than a distant hum, unnoticeable if the windows are shut. We love that we can get or use our Marriott points here, and loved the free breakfast. I read something about their "breakfast sandwiches" so was expecting grab-and-go, but in fact they had a full range of offerings: make-your-own waffles, various muffins, cereals, bagels, yogurts, fruit assortments, juices, and yes two choices of breakfast sandwiches you could microwave yourself. (And let us not forget kudos for the complimentary chocolate chip cookies laid out in the lobby at night!)

The small pool and hot tub were mobbed with children when we were there, but it was a weekend, so that may be different on weeknights.

The service is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel has an employee recognition program where the guests nominate any helpful employee for a "pineapple" award, and you do see the employees proudly wearing (sometimes dozens) of pineapple pins. They all seem eager to keep collecting these pins, because everyone we encountered went above-and-beyond in friendliness and good service..

On a recent road trip to visit a friend in Connecticut, I stayed with my friend at the Fairfield Inn & Suites since he just relocated there. The room was bright, colorful and very clean. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I was a bit concerned about the hotel, which I booked on Priceline, but it ended up being very nice. It is off the main road a bit which made it very quite and it must have been recently re-done because everything was new and in very good shape. Helpful staff, no issues at all.

The staff here is extremely nice and helpful. When I arrived there was no issue getting me checked in. They have a pool and a hot tub which was a perfect way to relax when I came back for the evening (so bring your swimsuit!). In addition the staff provided me with an umbrella since it was raining and helped me find a place to eat/offered carry out menus with no hassle at all. The room was very clean and I loved the fact that the bed was extremely comfortable and had 5 feather pillows. Connecting to the internet was simple. The one problem I had which honestly wasnt even a problem was that there is a light they have shining on the side of the building that mildly illuminates your room and you cant close the thick part of the curtains all the way to make it completely dark, however the bed is so comfortable that you dont even notice this when you lay down to sleep. Breakfast was tasty and checking out was no problem at all. If im in CT for whatever reason, I will stay here again for sure!
