“A classic establishment--good food and right on the water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2009

Just got back from a family celebration at the Dock & Dine. Once again, the food and service was great, and you certainly can't beat the location. Aside from having a table on right the water, which, by the way, is getting harder and harder to find in Connecticut, the unpretentious [lunch] menu ranges from cheeseburgers to scallops, swordfish, fish & chips, steak salad, chicken and on and on-- front and back of the page. And for dessert--key lime pie, cheesecake, chocolate brownie messy deal, etc, etc...even the coffee was great. You've got try it if you haven't already and go back if you have.

“Connecticut River at it's Best.... Dining at it's Worst”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2008

On a recent September day I ventured back to Saybrook Pointe and Dock & Dine for a quick Lobster Roll and a Beer. I entered the restaurant populated mostly by seniors and headed to the bar where I was seated after about 5 mins of waiting. I ordered from a menu that reminded me of a family restaurant in the 1970s... nothing new, nothing exciting, so I opted for the Hot LObster Roll, a cup of bisque and a Sam Adams Ale. I waited for what seemed an eternity finally being served an overcooked Lobster Roll (likely frozen and cooked on the grill) dry as a cotton ball, a store brand variety roll and a spoonful of cole slaw and some no name brand chips. When asked "how did ya like it..." I told the waitress "terrible..." she said "oh" and walked away... the bisque was equally as horrible tasting only of butter and red food coloring. Slaw was old and the chips bland at best. The best part for 29.00 plus tip was the Sam Adams Beer... Avoid this place until they re-do their concept.
