“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2012

Not "just" a place for sandwiches and wraps, the meals are great and priced around $10. Since everything is made from scratch, it doesn't get any fresher than this. They will make each meal to the taste of the customer (ie: spicy, hot, mild, etc) Visit here even if you don't care for Morrocan food. They have something for everyone. And don't forget the best ice cream in the area..........They are now located in the old James Pharmacy on Main Street

“Kathy and Mohammed are super!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011 via mobile

Tissou's has moved to the Old James Pharmacy onMain St. In Old Saybrook. They make amazing Moroccan food in the most unlikely lace. Tagine catering, Kathy's cakes travel to fancy parties in NYC and don't even ask about their amazing flavors of ice cream.

“Charming Place w/ Great Ice Cream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

James Soda Fountain is one of the most historic establishments in Saybrook, having started as a general store and soda fountain and been through many reincarnations including a long history as a pharmacy. Now, in addition to the Soda Fountain it is the unlikely home of a Moroccan store. Whether or not that's of interest of you, the good news is they still have delicious ice cream!

“Amazing Moroccan food and awesome owners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2009

Our office likes to think Tissas is a well kept secret in Old Saybrook. Every friday morning we start talking about Mohammed's specials for our weekly lunch gathering. Hmmm...Lamb Tagine? Kabob sandwich with harissa? Braised short ribs? All for around 10 bucks. And if nothing jumps out at you, Mohammed is always eager to make something up on the fly. If the special ever includes a balsamic glaze, pounce on it. One of my favorite specials is "Make me something awesome." He never disappoints. And the desserts at the counter made by Cathy are ridiculous. Make sure to grab one on the way out. As of now there are only about 4 tables in this tiny little market which also sells moroccan foods, spices, clothes, music and clay tagines. Stop by for lunch and I promise this will become one of your favorite restaurants in the area.
