“They recently renovated this inn and they did a lovely job.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2012

I recently had dinner at the Old Lyme Inn. They just reopened after many months of renovations. The food was good but I have a feeling that it will get much better once they have been open for a few months and work out some of the kinks. The waitress are very nice but like the kitchen they do not have their act together. Once seated at a lovely table in front of the fire we were asked to move to the back of the room to accomodate a larger party. That is a big no-no. Hopefully with time and practice they will work through their short comings.

The next time we have to make the choice of dinning out we'll choose one of the big national chain restaurants. They have a better menu selection. The cooks at the Old lyme Inn/restaurant should consult gourmet mags. for fresh new ideas and elevate themselves to a higher standard. Andrew Campbell.

“WOW”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012 via mobile

My girlfriend and I had dinner at the new Old Lyme Inn last night and we had an amazing time, we first had drinks at the bar and dinner at the main dining room. I had sausage and grapes and my girlfriend had bento box tuna, and for dessert we shared a cream puff. everything was delightful....the new owners did a great job on the new Inn, the place is beautiful and the food left me speechless!!! The service was good too, we are planning to go back again soon, I 100% recommend the New Old Lyme Inn Missy

“Very attractive rooms, food good, service pleasant but bumpy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2012

Ate last week at the newly renovated Old Lyme Inn, which has reopening for dining. We sat in a spacious room, piano player in the next that could be dispensed with as it adds nothing. Waitress was good busboys uneven in their understanding of what was needed. Thought the prices were typical, food was pretty good but not memorable. Very New England inn, very New England well- heeled and well-behaved Saturday evening dinner crowd.

One diner had a scallop dish that needed another 2 or three on the plate to make it worthwhile. Calves' liver very tasty but not cooked as requested. It was a perfectly good place to entertain my guests, but not, from a culinary viewpoint, interesting enough to return. Perhaps it aims to please its local regulars rather than to aspire to more.
