“1/2 price of casino hotel”

This hotel is right off the highway and very close (5 minutes) from the Mohegan Sun casino making it a very good option when visiting the casino. Although I'd prefer to just stay at the casino, the prices and room availability are lousy. This hotel is a nice compromise. The room prices are much less and it seems easy enough to get a room even on short notice.

I stayed here for one night and found the accommodations to be just fine. It's no resort for sure, but what do you want from a Holiday Inn? The room was clean and comfy. The bed-which is all that really matters in a hotel like this- was very, very comfortable. The bathroom was small and the mirror wasn't tall enough for me (6'0'') so I couldn't see my face in it unless I ducked down. There was a small refrigerator in the room and the usual other options.

There is a bar and restaurant. I didn't try either. Instead try a breakfast/dinner place down the street called the Old Tymes Restaurant ([------------------]). It was the best breakfast I've ever had.

We were nervous about staying at this place after looking over a few reviews from others, but in the end we were pleasantly surprised!

The room was clean and the bed was extra comfortable. The staff was helpful and polite, and the free shuttle service to Mohegan Sun is a great value with the dinner vouchers and $10 gambling credit.

Our only complaint would be that the walls are a bit thin. We got to know our neighbors a little too well.

Overall we would stay there if we're in the area again.

Booked a Sat night. Hotel right off 1-395. The rooms were clean and updated. The staff friendly. It was minutes from Mohegan Sun. The shuttle does get filled up quickly. With No parking fee take your car over. Very close. Half the price of Mohegan Sun for a Sat night.!!!

Rooms were nice but we had problems with the plumbing with the bathroom sink and tub backing up - complained and maintenance came by and used Drano but did not fix the problem.

Casino shuttle only runs once per hour and only holds 12 persons so it books up quickly for the evening. We were told that the last shuttle was at 1:50 which was not the case so we ended up taking a taxi back to the hotel.

Do not bother with the breakfast buffet. The food was not that great and the service was horrendous. One would think with a buffet that the staff could handle the beverage service and bring us a check but not so. We had to get up and find coffee, creamer, orange juice and the check. Took 25 minutes to pay at the register. Complained to front desk but only received a "sorry, they must be understaffed."

Check in was 3pm. We checked in around 4pm and they had trouble finding a clean room. The two clerks were discussing the bridal party that was staying there that night. We requested to be as far away from them as possible and was told we were. Wrong. A group was partying in the hall outside our room well after 1:30am. We had to call the front desk twice. Two hours later, they moved the party elsewhere. We were told the room had a microwave and refigerator. It had neither. The tolet seat lid had a big stain, we had to have housekeeping clean it. The shower had hair in it from the previous guests. The celing light in the bathroom was just a lightbulb in a hole. The windows had no privacy curtains you could draw. It had only sheer curtains. When we checked out we explained to the management how disappointed we were as we had requested a room away from the bridal party and was in fact right outside our door. She said "I don't know why you were told you would be away from the party-ers as they were scattered all over the hotel. I don't know why you were told that, were her exact words and referred us back to Priceline, putting the blame on them. I will NEVER stay at the Holiday Inn in Norwich again. It was a very long unpleasant night. This was listed as a 3 star hotel on Priceline. I give it a one.
