I have driven by this place a dozen times. Only stopped b/c of some Groupon deal. I was surprised. 11:45 lunch and the place was just opening. The owner / waitress was nice and eager to serve. The place clearly has many specials from happy hour half price appetizers to beer specials on many days of the week. The place appears as though it could clearly ise a boost in business despite being open for four years, despite the fact that the casino, 3 car dealerships and Thames on the River all being within a mile.
Either way, I ordered the appetizer sampler with 4 crab rangoons, 4 mozzarella sticks, 4 fried shrimp, and two humungous egg rolls tempura style. The rangoons were amazing. Incredibly light and creamy, and in a light batter rather than a heavy doughy shell normal rangoons use. They could use a little more crab flavor though. The shrimp were tasty and the moz sticks, heated through and good. (I hate it when the middle are not cooked enough). The egg rolls were big and good.
Although this was a thai place, I had a hankering for a burger, so I got theirs. It was a normal burger with LTO and two (not one) slice of cheese. And the burger was thick! One of the best burger bargains in New London County (burger bargain rating is based on how much burger you get for the money - the ambiance / view. And at $9 for at least a 8 oz burger 2 onion rings and fries......it doesn't get any better. (Other burger bargains = Old Lyme Tavern and Jack Rabbits).
You won't leave hungry, and unless service is abominable during peak hours, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a steak, burger, or thai. Next week I'm going back for thai and will report bacjk
