I saved my birthday 'day off' for the Spa at Norwich Inn. This is the place to spend the day - not an hour or two - but to take advantage of the day. I arrived in the morning and took a walk around the beautiful grounds to start my 'unwind' then worked out in their great exercise room with new-feeling, modern machines and weights. Then did the steam room before moving on to lunch at Kensington's. Excellent - try to get this included in a day package. I received two items and a beverage as part of the "Fall Indulgence" - which included the gratuity as well.

After lunch, and feeling stuffed - I had my first treatment - the Hearthside Massage with warm stones. I was assigned to Steve, and I normally prefer a man's strength - but Steven was a little too eratic with the strokes - shame on me for not asking him to slow down (but the stones just may have been too warm - again, my fault that I didn't say anything then.) After this I went outside for some sun and quiet reading. It was a warm, beautiful day and I had to move in or risk sunburn, so I read some more in the relaxation room, where throughout the day folks were actually napping.

I steamed again - which included eucalyptus scents - and then went to my express facial (which I should have actually done for an hour) which was the best part of the whole day. Kathy was phenomenal. I finished the afternoon with tea and scones, again part of the package. I didn't even have a chance to enjoy all of the amenities of the jacuzzi, pool, sauna or WINE TASTING. Once showered and relaxed, I went for my "exercise session" which was a belly dancing lesson. Although I thought that this would be very low impact - this by far this is the most fun I've had while exercising. I think my instructor was Sharon - and the hour flew and was so entertaining. Plus my abs KILLED for two days afterward and I work out pretty normally.

My only drawback (besides the somewhat eratic stone massage which I take responsbility for) - was the shower. This is my second visit to the spa - using a different shower than I did 18 months ago - and they are awful. Hard, brutal spray and I've soaked the entry way floor both times. Fortunately, this time I remembered to put every up high.

This "day spa" is really a destination for the day. Don't short change yourself with a few hours - take the day. You won't regret it.

Husband and I went for much needed R&R...we left our baby in good hands and got a villa for the weekend. We were told our room was smoking permitted but they aired it out and you'd never know. room was really beautiful and clean. we played tennis..had great food...great great service. the spa is so nice. and Mohegan Sun is 5 minutes away so my husband enjoyed evening entertainment. I cant wait to go back with girlfriends. Only detraction was 2 loud kids at the pool. would have preferred the pool was a little quieter. but otherwise...a great escape!

I went to the spa alone and enjoyed my down time there. As for the services I don't think I would go back. I had a massage and it was just ok nothing great. I also had a body scrub which started a little late and ended a little early. It's only a 25 min. service so I would have liked the whole time. The lunch package was included, but the lunch was horrible. I think the whole spa area, treatment rooms and some of the grounds need some serious attention. The spa reception desk could use a few classes in customer service- not anything horrible but I stood at the desk for a little bit before some acknowleged me. There were 3 people behind the desk at this time, even if they were busy (which I'm not sure they were) could have made me feel a little more comfortable. The ladies in the womens locker area were very friendly and attentive. The spa does have a wonderful gym, which wasn't busy at all. Like I said I truly enjoyed my time alone, was very relaxed when I left, but for the price I would have liked more customer service.

My wife and I went to the Spa at Norwich Inn with my parents and our 1 year-old daughter. Our group therefore had a range of needs from babysitting to vigorous workouts to meditation and massage. We could not have been more impressed with the service we received. During our stay our daughter became ill and we needed to take her to the hospital and then cut our trip short. (She has recovered fully.) Everyone, especially Maria, the babysitter recommended by the Inn, and Beverly the concierge did an amazing job helping us through this difficult event.

Before we had to leave we were having a fabulously relaxing time. The personal trainer Donna D’andrea gave a helpful and specific fitness evaluation and Susan Ucci led relaxing and calming meditation sessions. Both my massages were excellent, though I want to hold up Victor Grazzianio as unusually able and a fascinating conversationalist.

“I love to go to the spa, but... The Food Is AWFUl”

I enjoy the location, the spa is good/beautiful when kept clean. The menu from the dining room is limited and food is not very good. Drinks are made well. I was unhappy with my massage by the male massous. I requested a women and was happier than last time. But on 2 prior occasions the male that did my body massage started later than any other and ended 5 minutes before my time was up. Due to the fact it happened a 2nd time I said something. He began to stretch me to fill the 5 minutes. I was very dissapointed.I have never stayed over, but could see the rooms to be a little ratty and over priced.
