I recently took my mother and godmother for a day at the spa as they had never been to one before. Front desk was extremely helpful upon checking in, my mother and godmother both got the mud wraps and got their hair done in the salon and I received an 80 minute swedish massage from Jayme, It was beyond great, she really knew her stuff, didn;t talk during the massage. The staff was very well trained and pleasant, they really made the trip for my mom, shes still talking about it. I would definitely go back. we didn;t stay over so i can;t comment on the rooms, i believe they are refurbishing some parts of the inn but the reality is its a historic hotel not a brand new chain so I think you sacrifice the "new modern look" for an old time charm.

I've been to the Spa and Norwich Inn several times. Recently a friend of mine and I took advantage of a day package. We were pleased with the surroundings and the reception staff was great. Lunch was fantastic and our waitress was excellent. I decided to try hydrotherapy. It was okay, however I wouldn't do it again. Basically you are taking an assisted bath. Someone must stay in the room with you the whole time in case you get too hot. The only negative, and this one is kind of big, is that I don't believe they have high enough standards for the appearance of their staff. While I don't expect a massuese to be gorgeous, I do expect them to have a clean and hygienic appearance. They should also reconsider allowing them to wear untucked black polos with big black shorts and black socks. Their appearance just didn't seem to match the spa and it was offputting which distracts from the experience. I've rated my experience above average because the staff was friendly, food terrific and surroundings gorgeous.

We stayed at the Spa at Norwich Inn in
late May 2008 and have a reservation
to return in early July. My grandparents
were from Norwich and I remember
many visits from my childhood, decades
past. Staying at the Inn was a wonderful
experience in all respects. The kindness,
generosity, care of the staff was superb.
My husband has ALS, Lou Gehrigs disease
and requires a power wheelchair. We
received a complimentary upgrade to
a larger room which was impeccably
clean. The food at the Inn was first class.
We ended up having all our meals there.
A massage after tea one afternoon made
for a perfect stay. Thinking about visiting?
Don't think twice. Click your heels and make
it happen.

My fiance and I enjoyed an overnight here. I loved the decor...they were sprucing most of it up, but it still has a historic, bed-and-breakfasty feel. Everyone we met (reception, spa, wait staff) was incredible. Never was anyone short or inattentive. We felt very well-taken care of. Food in Kensington's was awesome. Our favorites were the pan-seared scallops with mango salsa appetizer and vegetable cannoli. We also loved the complimentary wine tasting. The spa was very clean and pricey, but that was to be expected. No one pushed us to buy anything. That was great. Also, loooooooved the spa showers. I love major water pressure and it was great. Clean, powerful, shower and great products to use in the locker room. It was beautiful and a great getaway. Note: We had room 54-the furthest from anything. It was HUGE though. We didn't pay for a suite, but it had an entrance hall, large bathroom, another hall, couch, armchair, king bed. very nice, but only if you can do the walk.

“Great Place for a Nice Weekend”

The Spa at Norwich Inn

Apr 29, 2008

I have been to the Spa a few times and find that its beautiful grounds and quaint atmosphere make it great for a nice weekend away. The service was excellent both in the restaurant and front desk/room services. I found my dinner excellent especially with the piano player for entertainment. Also its close proximity to both casinos was a plus. All in all I recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice getaway in CT.
