“Don't hold a meeting here”

Nice to look at, and once considered a fine hotel, but the hotel shows it's age. We held a board meeting there when we couldn't get another space. The food was mediocre, the table cloths were dirty and had to be changed twice. The AC didn't properly cool the room (in July), which had a distinctly moldy odor to it (the meeting rooms are next to the pool).

The service was fine, but not much they could do to compensate for the shoddy surroundings. I would not recommend their meeting spaces.

Thank you for taking time to submit your review of your board meeting in Norwalk, CT. Your comments suggest that your negative experience was at an area hotel with a similar name or within our immediate vicinity. Our conference center space consistently maintains a 100 % guest satisfaction rating. Our meeting rooms are not located near or much less next to the outdoor swimming pool and The Inn is home to award winning Adam’s Rib Restaurant- a 50 year tradition of fine dining. All food served in corporate functions is prepared in its kitchen to the same quality standard. The same attention to detail extends to housekeeping matters such as the cleanliness of tablecloths. We note that you are a local resident and would like nothing more than to extend an invitation for a site tour of our state-of-the-art facility. We look forward to the opportunity.

My wife and I stayed here on a weekend in May for a wedding (not held on site). The first impression was disappointment because of the small size of the room and the tired look of the entrance / parking; however, it grew on us, so to speak. Exceptionally clean, some useful conveniences (a mini fridge, small vanity outside of bathroom, large armoir with enough drawers, multiple phones with speaker / internet) and a very comfortable bed (it was clear that all beds were being replaced with new ones while we were there). When coupled with the rate (under $100), convenient access to I-95 and Route 1 and some other features of the property (onsite restaurant, ample self-parking), we left with a sense of having received very good value. Would not recommend more than 2 people per room (even w/ kids) and beware of a couple of awkward room locations (e.g., 119 - directly inside rear entrance and opposite vending and a small common area), but with those cautions and reasonable expectations given the rate, the Norwalk Inn should leave you more than satisfied.

I found the Norwalk Inn and Conference Center to be well priced considering the rates for other places in the Stamford/Greenwich area.
The room was clean and comfortable. It definitely had the feel of a place geared toward business traveler and tourist alike to compete with the more expensive big chain places. The people there were very friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was really a breakfast. You could choose off their menu and get pancakes or omelets if you chose. The restaurant was good for dinner as well. All in all, I would recommend this place to visitors in the area.

Totally mystified by your other review of the Norwalk Inn. We've stayed there three times in the past four years--once in conjunction with a family get-together with a number of participants also on board--and have found it a most positive experience. The staff, many of whom have been there for years, is helpful and pleasant. The rooms, which are smaller than standard motel rooms, are nicely equipped with everything one might need, including three phones and a fridge, cozy, cheerful and quiet. Weekdays an excellent hot breakfast buffet is included in the attractive dining room of the onsite restaurant, which is also available weekends. Add to that reasonable rates and a central but back-from-the-road location, and you'd be hard pressed to match it in the area, which has limited hotel-motel availability. There are many meetings, weddings, etc. onsite, also a cocktail lounge, but in our experience it's never been noisy. Also a 24-hour computer with internet hookup and an outdoor pool. Ideal for a business trip or as a home away from home!
