“Good environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

Been here a few times. They put on a great St pattys day party. Was there last night for trivia night. Dollar sliders which were excellent. Like this place!

“A warm and friendly place with good food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2012

Like this place very much. Enjoy the atmosphere and music as well as the food - not your standard bar fare.

“NOISY NOISY NOISY and what kind of Irish pub can't make a black and tan?!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2010

I met up with friends for dinner here a few days ago. Upon walking in the door I was assaulted by a WALL OF NOISE. It is impossible to hold a conversation without SCREAMING. I was expecting some level of noise, but it was so totally unbearable that I had to step outside a few times.

I asked for a black & tan. It looked and tasted as if the bartender had filled the glass half with Harp, half with Guinness, and then stirred it! The Guinness is supposed to float!

The food was "meh", the service was "meh".

They advertise on-site parking, which is a selling point as on-street parking is hard to come by in South Norwalk. However, their on-site parking is woefully inadequate.

I will not go back.

“The Premier Irish Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 3, 2009

Fairfield County is the home of a huge number of Irish pubs. Every other street in Stamford seems to have 2 or 3 of them each claiming to be more authentic than the next. You need to go to South Norwalk though and not Stamford for the real thing. O'Neills moved recently into a larger space just a couple of doors down from their original location but lost none of that neighborhood feeling which is why we go to pubs. The food is still top notch especially the Bangers and Mash and the Chicken Curry which is exactly as you find it all over Ireland. It's also very family friendly which is makes it unique among the Irish Pubs in the area. The service has been consistently great which is something very rare in most restaurants. If you are looking for a place to bring the family, drink a pint and watch the game on multiple TVs then Oneill's is where you want to go.
