“Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at the Boadwalk in May for a work conference and was blown away by the truly magnificence decor and friendly service. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. The staff of the hotel were helpful, efficient and friendly. It was my first time in PE and I can definitely say that based on this hotel alone- I can see why they call it the "Friendly City". we won't stay anywhere else when visiting PE.

Stayed May 2013, traveled on business

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

We stayed here with our two kids for three nights as my husband was doing the Ironman. The hotel looks great, everything is new and our suite was perfect. However, when we booked we specifically booked for two adults and two children and when we arrived in the room there was the standard double bed and only one single bed. Where was the 4th person supposed to sleep? When my husband complained at reception they told him that there weren't any more beds available. I was not impressed. I guess he made a fuss because eventually another single bed was brought to the room.

The facilities are amazing. There is a decent gym, a heated indoor pool and a very nice outdoor pool plus pool area. Breakfast was good as well. We didn't dine at the restaurant but made use of the room service which was average. The food was very salty.

Except for the hick-up when checking in the service was very good and the staff was very friendly.
I would stay here again if I were ever to travel to PE again.

This hotel is brand new, and the facilities are awesome. There is an indoor and an outdoor pool, a gym, a fantastic spa, and most importantly for Iron Man competitors, it is located directly across the road from the start/finish of the race, and the transition area. The decor is tasteful and elegant and the beds are extremely comfortable.

The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful - they have obviously been well trained.

There was a bit of a wait for food in the restaurant, but this is to be expected in a packed hotel the night before an Iron Man event. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, and the service at breakfast was excellent.

Would love to visit there again!

We arrived from Pretoria on 2 April and was met by very friendly staff and a cool refreshing drink. The reception promptly booked us in and the concierge accompanied us to our spacious room overlooking Hobie beach. Upon entering I got this Urine smell coming from one side of the room.We opened the windows hoping it would disappear. Next morning after a sleepless night I spoke to the manager on duty. We were moved to another room. I also alerted the housekeeping supervisor about hairs lying in one of the drawers. Dinner at the restaurant the first night was not great. At breakfast i bit into shells in the seafood coctail. The waitress apologised but no apology from the Manager or chef. We had dinner at Barneys across the street the next night which was lovely and much cheaper. This was our experience from a 5star hotel. perhaps we were just unlucky

We stayed at this brand new hotel. Rooms beautiful and spacious. Bathroom also comfortable. All rooms have a seaview with sliding doors. The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast are included in room price. Breakfast excellent. Lots to choose from. Also a hot breakfast part of the deal. I can highly recommend this lovely hotel. Casino is some distance from hotel. You do not get the casino atmosphere so it was great. Will stay here again. The hotel has 2 pools. The one is a heated indoor pool that we have used. It was great.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 408 and it was great.

My wife and I visited Kiplings restaurant for dinner recently to celebrate an anniversary.
It was our first visit here, although we had previously had a bar lunch in the lounge.
The restaurant is beautifully appointed and has a good ambience. Prices are reasonable for a 5 star establishment. The service was, on the whole, good, but did fall down over the fact that we were left with an empty wine glass for too long more than once. The ice-bucket was not in reach, so that we could not top up our own glasses, something that we should not be exoected to do in such an establishment anyway.
Starters were well presented and of good quality, but our main courses, lamb shank and kingklip, were not of 5 star quality, nor was the presentation. Our dessert was attractively presented which we enjoyed. The chef had obviously gone to some trouble to make it appropriate for the occasion.
The layout of the restaurant is not the best, as families are constantly walking through to access the terrace. This should be via another door and not through a calm eating area.
Overall, a very pleasant evening, but the hotel needs to look at certain aspects of it's service and food quality. No doubt this will come in time - it has only been open for 3 months.
