“Ordinary, definately not 5*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

Fairly small rooms, very modern but cheap furniture. Fantastic views and close to shops. Taxi prices to get to decent restaurants quite high (approx £6 each way). Less than 5 minutes to get to beach. Staff were freindly. Lots of waiting around for rooms to be ready to checkin - saw this every time we passed through the foyer and not much seating. Very little tourist information available from staff

Room Tip: Ask for beach view

When we checked on the staff seemed great and on to of things but the promises were not delivered.
Our room was clean and adequately appointed but when you went into the bathroom are where the toilet was the floor was wet and constantly leaked water between the tiles. We discovered the next morning that this is likely from the shower leaking.
When we. checked in we asked for a 5 am wake up call as we had an early flight. We did not receive a wake up call. At the same time as we discussed the wake up call we were told that because we were leaving before the breakfast restaurant would be open we could hang our order on our door knob and we would receive a continental breakfast in our room at the specified time. We did not receive breakfast although the card was gone from our door. We called to ask about it and the reception said they would look into it for us. By the time we had to leave for the airport there was no breakfast and no explanation. Breakfast was part of the room price when we booked
So not a great experience

We visited in late August. This is a modern hotel which is already showing signs of wear and tear. The furniture is basically made of chipboard and is already crumbling. The room was large enough but the bed was squashed into an alcove so one person had no bedside table; really bad design. The bathroom was tiny and we had to send down for toilet paper which never came. The bar area was freezing, We were both wearing coats. We ate in the hotel restaurant and that was allright. However the waiter serving us (a local lad, I can't remember his name) was excellent; the highlight of our stay in this hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms have beautiful views of the Indian Ocean

I had read they were in liquidation proceedings but the reviews indicated it was still running as normal until they found a buyer so I took a chance and booked a room for 8 days. Unfortunately there was no hot water until late afternoon on my 2nd day, the 3rd day the electricity went out and even their emergency generator did not come on so the stairwells were pitch black. The 4th day it was the hot water being out again. I would avoid this hotel like the plague. There are many nice hotels in Port Elizabeth so there is no reason to risk encountering the same problems they have had for the last 4 days. I will be leaving 4 days early and moving to another hotel in Port Elizabeth.

I did enjoy the food and people at the hotel. Everyone is very nice and the problems are not their fault. I believe it is because they do not have the maintenance money they need to maintain the hotel as even a 2 star property right now. I think they are just keeping it taped together as well as they can until they find their buyer.

Good location.
We only stayed one night and spent most of our time outside the hotel.
Breakfast was nice.
Everything about the hotel is pretty much what you would expect.
Nothing out of the ordinary...fine.

I was impressed with the Radisson Blue as an option for business travellers to
PE. The rooms are well laid out with space to work and plenty of plugs. Bathrooms are open plan with beautiful modern finishes and pleasant complimentary toiletries. Beds are comfortable with high thread count linen. Delicious coffee available in the foyer for early departures. Will definitely use again for PE visits. Service is 5 star from friendly team

Hotel being situated on the beach road it gives soothing and relaxing mood when you open the windows towards east. Rooms are very good. The restaurant does not have much choice of foods. Vegetarians have to suffer, as the choice was very few. Breakfast was good, as the selection of food items were many. The restaurant is little cramped.

Room Tip: Beach road side rooms very good
