“Excellent guest house in PE”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon for two nights in January at the beginning of our Garden route trip. The house and room was very spacious and comfortable. The house is a short walk to shops, restaurants and the beach. Breakfast was tasty and very well presented (my wife is a vegetarian and she was very satisfied). Both Wendy and Chris were very friendly with Wendy particularly helpful in organising trips and restaurants. The guesthouse also has a pool which we did not use. One minor negative I would say is that I think wifi should be included in the room price.
Overall I would highly recommend this guesthouse.

My husband and I stayed at Manor 30 for a night before heading up to Addo. We were greeted warmly by Wendy and Chris, who had tons of recommendations and advice for things to do in PE. The house itself is lovely with an open floor plan and a gorgeous pool in the middle. A little sad we didn’t have more time to swim in it! Our room (I believe #1) was at the top of the stairs and it was large and spacious with a modern en-suite bathroom. The breakfast, served poolside, was delightful with fresh fruit and delicious eggs. We were a little surprised to find at check out that the breakfast wasn’t included (upon arrival we were asked *when* we wanted breakfast instead of whether we wanted it at all for a price). It was delicious and not expensive so we probably would’ve eaten it regardless…but it was definitely a little off-putting. Otherwise, our short stay was lovely.

I spent a night with friends at his lodge on starting the garden route and loved it in every single way. The owners were very welcoming, the rooms were beautifully decorated, which one in its unique way, and the house itself is very pleasant, luxurious and comfortable. The owners offered in advance to make a dinner reservation for us for the arriving night, we were 13 people and we had dinner in a really beautiful restaurant. I didn't have to worry about finding a nice place to eat because I had all the worries about it looked after for us. After dinner we all slept very comfortably and woke up next morning with a very nice breakfast made for us, as they knew we were all Brazilians, they only made things that we could all eat as we were used to it at home, Brazilian people do not usually have bacon, sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms for breakfast, and thinking about it they provided us with the most delicious food. The only thing we were unhappy was that we only spent a night there. We wish we could had stayed longer.

We stayed for 5 days in Dec 2012 and wow what a lovely place. We stayed in room 1 which was one of the nicest rooms we have stayed in. Try the breakfast its to die for!! Wendy, Chris and their staff work very hard to make your stay enjoyable, nothing is to much trouble. Would we return, definitely, try it you won't be disappointed!!!!!

PS: Thank you Wendy for all the help in booking our hotel in Cape Town, we had a great time.
Take care all Della and Gary UK xx

Wendy was, for us, the last of a long line of extraordinarily hospitable landladies who accommodated us during our trip from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth. We stayed for just one night but Wendy ensured that our brief stay worked like clockwork, with taxis booked to ferry us around and great restaurant recommendations. The premises are decorated with superb taste and the rooms are large and very comfortable. The pool is beautiful and contributes to an ambience which is very restful. The house is within easy walking distance of a bathing beach and the Boardwalk Casino, if that's your thing.

I take my hat off to Wendy and her staff for ensuring our brief stay was such a memorable and pleasant one.

Clean and comfortable rooms....spacious bathroom....we stayed here for a night and it was a very warm experience...Wendy was very charming...we had an early morning flight but we still were able to have a wonderful breakfast thanks to Christopher and Wendy going out of the way to ensure a freshly cooked breakfast at 6:30 in the morning...will surely recommend this place
