“Enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

We really enjoyed our recent two night stay at the Mountain View Inn. The innkeepers were very friendly and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The breakfasts were very tasty and included fresh fruits and homemade rosemary potatoes and quiches. The furnishings were beautiful and it was interesting to read the histories of the various rooms. The outside front porch encouraged sunny lounging and reading although our weekend was too busy to do much of that! I would heartily recommend this bed and breakfast.

This is one of the best bed and breakfast I have stayed at. The owner Dean Johnson goes out of his way to make sure your every need is met. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The place is beautifully decorated with antiques and has a Victorian flare. Dean's artwork is tastefully displayed throughout the inn. While there, don't forget to pet Noelle the house "guard" dog! She is precious and loves to have you pet her and nuzzle her. She will even curl up on one of the many couches with you. She just eats the attention up!!! Dean fixed us a delicious breakfast in the morning with a rice pudding for a starter that was to die for!!

Room Tip: All rooms are exceptional!

Graceful and elegant bed and breakfast, with most delightful hosts, would give anyone a great weekend getaway. The Inn is decorated with antiques and beautiful paintings. The innkeeper is an artist and you can enjoy some of his art work on display. Norfolk is a cute small town, but has much to offer. There are several state parks close to the Inn including Campbell Falls and Haystack Mountain hiking trails. Yale summer music school conducts concerts and performances in summer. Plus Infinity music hall on top of Infinity bistro has concerts on the weekends. We stayed over the weekend and enjoyed our time very much.

My two friends and I went to a concert at infinity music hall. Needed a place to crash for the night. So we ended up finding this inn within walking distance from the concert which was perfect since none of us could drive after. The place was gorgeous, clean, quiet. The service was perfect. We asked for a two bed room and got it. Our other friend slept on the floor (which he planned on anyways) they got him a nice foam thing and blankets and pillows. We were a little obnoxiously loud, so we apologize to anyone who stayed there and heard us. I would definitely go back there again (just not with them, but the wife)
If you need a place to stay if your going to the infinity music hall this is the place or if your just in Norfolk. They had breakfast but we chose not to eat there even though it looked amazing. Way better than a diner or any other place I've stayed at. Thanks again this place gets a 10/10!

Beautiful Inn and the owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very nice and the bed super comfortable. The town was small but still very charming. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

The Infinity is a bit of a haul for us, so my husband and I decided to stay overnight at the Mountainview Inn and make a weekend of it. What a good decision! The inn was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! We will definitely be back so we can enjoy their gorgeous stone patio in the warmer weather. As an added bonus, Dean tipped us off to a scenic detour to Campbell Falls up the road. Definitely worth the drive....

The 1890's historic house is ornate, comfortable, and lovingly well-kept. The location is ideal for walking into town, and Dean is a remarkably gracious host. I felt welcome and appreciated, and the full breakfast was superbly prepared. All local / organic ingredients, and special touches that foodies will notice and appreciate.

Room Tip: Erastus room is spacious and quiet, with everything you need (including wi-fi) and a nice view.
