“Best breakfast in Newtown. Under new management!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

We visit this place for lunch and breakfast 6 or 7 times since was under new management. The staff seems happier and the food is better. Rubens, pastrami, burgers VERY good. The best breakfast is best in town homemade hash great French toast. Very cozy environment like sitting in a Vermont restaurant. New owner very gracious I'm a fan.

“Under new management”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

New owner. Same menu. Ask for the warmed syrup. Huge portions. On the weekend, prepare to wait (usually outside....bring a jacket)

“A Royal Breakfast...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Large portions, very good service and an expansive menu makes for a great place for kings, queens, princesses and princes to dine. Kings is a great place for the entire family. My husband had French toast and I had an omelet. Both were great...huge portions (one dish could serve two people, easily) that were fresh and tasty. We went on a weekend and got right in at around 9:30 AM but by the time we were leaving, a line had started for table of four or more. They offer some of their challah bread and jams for purchase to take home.

“Always Consistent, But Now There's a New Owner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

King's morphed years ago from Leo's, still a mainstay in Middlebury and Southbury, Connecticut. Not quite as good as Leo's, King's was always a good choice for a hearty breakfast or lunch. In the last month, however, there's a new owner, and while I haven't eaten there since, I notice the lines out the door are no more.
