I have stayed at the Rocky River Motel at least a dozen times. The accomodations are ordinarily basic and relatively clean. However, in the past few years, the motel has added a new building with more luxurious rooms at a higher price and seems to have neglected its regular priced rooms. My last visit was for three nights. The room smelled of mildew or mold and the housekeeping staff made an attempt to disguise the smell with sandalwood deodorizer. Opening the windows didn't help much. The carpets are getting old and the room generally wasn't as nice as in the past.
There is a small kitchenette which is convenient and two chairs and a table, but lighting is poor. The television is suspended from the ceiling as in a hospital room. Yick.
The hot water was fine and everything but the bedside lamp was in working order. The lamp had a broken socket which I reported but it wasn't fixed. I expressed concern that it could be a fire hazard. This is a no-frills place to stay. There are few amenities, no tissues, no extras. Towels are thin and not too plentiful. Don't expect the Marriot.
