“False advertisement at its finest!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

first red flag is this hotel doesn't have it's own website - not a very well established business. during the overnight visit we came across several inconveniences:
upon arrival to the hotel, we noticed the previously used sign for the "Radisson" had not been completely taken down; the front entrance was not very well lit; when we walked into the lobby, a customer with 3 young children had received a room with someone else already staying in it; the lobby was not yet finished from the renovations that were supposed to be completed november 1st, it was completely empty and all fire alarm alert lights were missing. The room across from ours had a piece of paper taped up with the number written on it. the room was nice except the pay per view was not working. all of the websites we used said that there was a pool, but it was also still under construction (thanks for the warning), the only saving grace for this "establishment" was the free wifi and breakfast which was most likely their way of making up for their shortcomings. without it this would have surely been 1 star.
overall, it wasn't worth our money. choose another hotel, no matter what kind of "deal" you come across. Or maybe call ahead and be sure all services are in good working order.

The place is either not very well managed or maybe they're just starting out, I don't know. The entire place is in various stages of renovation, but it isn't bad overall. Whenever those renovations are finally done, I'm sure it will be a much nicer experience, but for now I would choose to stay elsewhere considering it isn't really a great deal anyway. You can stay at an equivalent-quality motel elsewhere in the same area for $60-$75/night, so the only reason to stay here really is the shuttle.
When we arrived, first thing we noticed was that the lobby was not only still being renovated, but had the look of having had renovations abandoned (the carpet was rolled up around the edges, floor unfinished, etc.. just didn't look like it was actually still being worked on, just left that way). Eh, not a huge deal.
Then we were initially assigned to a room that was already occupied. This was mostly annoying because I had specifically asked the front desk person about this before we went up to the room (when you sign up for the Mohegan shuttle, you sign up by room number, and I saw right on the list that someone with our room number had already signed up for the shuttle... but she told me that was just a mix up... which it wasn't.). Whatever, we told them about the room being occupied, got re-assigned a new room and it was nicer than expected after seeing the state of the rest of the place!
The room was nice looking, and clean, but upon closer inspection, it just wasn't totally done. The fixtures in the bathroom weren't totally attached, there was some black mold on the ceiling in the bathroom (probably just because there is no fan for ventilation), etc. but overall it was OK, comfortable and large with a nice big TV. All OK, just again, $100 is a lot for this place.

The shuttle service is run by a really nice guy who seems to be working w/the hotel as sort of an independent contractor. He owns the van and I think most/all of the $ from your fee ($15/person round trip, from 5pm - 1:30am) goes to him and paying for his gas so we didn't really mind paying it. Only complaint I would give is that he was 15-20 min late each time we got picked up, but it really wasn't a big deal.
I'll also say they had a decent breakfast, mostly continental stuff but they also had eggs so that was a bonus!
Finally, we were overcharged for our room by $10 when we checked out, probably due to the room switch. Not a huge deal but they just need to get their acts together at this place!

Room Tip: Ask for a finished floor!!

I called and confirmed my reservation and when I arrived at the hotel at 2am they couldn't find my reso. The manager said, not sure what to tell you I don't have a clean room. Really? He was the only one working on a Saturday night. We had to wait for him to go to the basement to get us lean sheets and towels. We met him up in our used, not cleaned room and he took the sheets off and handed us clean sheets! He looked in the bathroom, emptied trash, took bar of soap covered in hair and left. I couldn't sleep after this! I was so grossed out! He was very pleasant and you could tell very embarrassed. Seemed like he had a rough night full of omplaints. We felt very bad for. Him! Then when checking out of the $99 room we got compt, the girl had a line of people heckling out complaining. One couple was never picked up by the shuttle at Mohegan! They forgot to go pick them up at 1am! Later that week we were changed $150.99 I had to chase off my card!

we were in for a family wedding in October. We were told the rooms would be done and there would be construction in the lobby. the air conditioning in my room did not work, there was construction material in the room hallways... staff clearly was tired of hearing all the complaints about this wretched hotel. Could not wait to get out!

Room Tip: "stay away, it is not a good place"

stayed here for one night the lobby was still under construction but the rooms are finished but still need updates like a fridge needs to be added and the hair dryer needs to be attached to the wall mostly just little things. nice and new. they have and awesome free breakfast and they have a shuttle that goes to moheagan for $10.00 round trip. it runs from 5p.m.-1:30a.m. and it is about 20 min. away. they have a lounge but it was only open from 5-10 maybe once they are through with the construction it will have longer hours. we would stay there again!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 417. it was right near the elevator and the ice machine

Was put off by several reviews about the ongoing renovations at this hotel, but the thing is, if you are here to go to Mohegan Sun, what do you need? A clean room and a shuttle bus. Our room was clean, modern and well appointed with a huge flat screen and new king bed, above average toiletries if you value that kind of thing. I can't remember when I last stayed in a hotel where the windows actually open - we love fresh air. And the rate was fantastic, on a Saturday night around the casino, even one star hotels are asking $200 or more.

A hot breakfast was included, and the bar was open, which surprised me, because when you arrive to the lobby, it does look like a war zone.

There are a couple of easy things that they could do to improve the atmosphere during renovations, and I mentioned these to them. Shroud off the renovation area at the entrance (this would prevent dust as well) and keep the floors and elevators clean. In fact, keep everything as clean as possible. The dust was even in the breakfast room, and the glass is dusty.

The main thing they will have to remember is, the hotel is only bricks and mortar; what will make the difference is customer service. This is the time when they should be going above and beyond to get customers to return after renos. Be honest about it - people aren't stupid. Get someone to help guests from the parking lot with bags, have a manager check all halls daily (beer cans in the elevator, etc), greet people and smile. A little honesty, warmth and personability goes a long way with people.

We were very disappointed and frankly felt lied to. We had held a block of rooms for a wedding for over 9 months and were assured renovations would be done. As it got closer we were told it wouldn't be done, but that the rooms would be. Continued calls to confirm the rooms would be done were met with definitie yesses. Needles to say, I guess you need to define "done". Air conditioners didn't work, thermostats were broken, showers leaked, construction materials in the hallways, lack of towels "because of the renovation", missing TV's in rooms, cranes in the parking lot, trash all over outside, beat up elevators, guests had to be moved.. on and on we go. We were embarrassed to have our friends and family there but unfortunately, we were too late to go anywhere else as they were booked. Every time we discussed we continued to get---it is because of the renovation. One time a housekeeper said it is was going to look great at the end of the month---isn't that great? It sucked. Did I mention it sucked. Even comping the bride's room and slight adjustments to the guests that complained loudly were enough to compensate.

Room Tip: one side of hotel is up against a project.... don't park there or stay there as there are contin...
