When Brie and Bleu (B&B) opened a couple years back I am sure many wondered what this place was doing on Bank Street in New London. A formerly seedy street with its very own adult book store and empty storefronts. With the opening of B&B and neighboring Thames River Wine & Spirits (TRWS) with views of the Thames River the first touches of class were brought to New London's Bank Street.
Every trip to New London we stop at least at B&B once. Their salads are of the most gourmet with fresh local produce and innovation. Their bruchetta (sandwiches) take Bruchetta to a new level. Fresh Avacado, and more all bring the taste buds of your tounge to a new level.
The interior is a finely restored old shore building from the early 1800s. Handsome wooden floors and a fine deck with great views. A shared door with the neighboring (TRWS) allows you to wander through that establishment while waiting for your food to arrive. While they do not offer alcoholic beverages one is free to go to TRWS and purchase a bottle or two of the best fitting spirit for your meal. The kind folks at TRWS then bring it back to your table ready to be enjoyed.
Dozens of cheeses from every corner of the globe to go along with various sausages, salami and more make this the place to enjoy yourself. Tired of pizza and chinese food... head on to B&B for class!
