“very disappointed and very costly if you did something other than the beach.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2010

A carload for 14 dollars was a great price for the beach only. The pool was beautiful but it cost 5.00 per person. Once inside you could not go back out without paying another 5.oo.to get back in. There were no consessions inside and no chairs to sit on. You couldn't bring in any drinks or food or a chair to sit on. I was totally discussed. The slide was 13.00 for 2 hours. It didn't appear that many of the things were opened. And the lockers were 3 dollars and if you go back to the locker to get something you had to pay another 3.00 . Everything seemed to be a one time deal.

“old fashioned family fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2010

I love this beach and have been going since i was a baby. As a teen I didn't like it because there are no waves b/c it is on Long Island Sound not the ocean. But because the teenagers like to go to nearby RI beaches - that leaves OB quiet for families.
The beach is beautiful, the sand is soft and white. There is a boardwalk, a nature walk, places to eat, an old school arcade, a playground, small water "park" (for little ones), small amusement park with old school water slide (old school is the key word for a lot of OB appeal). Mini golf, olympic size pool, gym. The "catering" hall hosts local hs proms and an annual international polka convention. If you're up for exploring - bring a kayak for water travel - or cross the creek at the western end of the beach and then hike by foot for a mile or two across some beautiful beaches/estates (Harkness, Eugene O'neil, Waterford town beach).

“I would go back and back and back and....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2009

Great New England beach. Well kept and clean. Great view and you can see the famous Ledge Light lighthouse, which just turned 100yrs. Nice small amusement park. Parking is a bit pricey though, drops to less than a third after 5pm.

“Fine Beach - Great Value !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2009

I am a beach/sun junkie and Ocean Beach is one of the best deals out there. They let you buy a season pass. I forgot exactly how much, but it was around $70.out of town and 40. for residents, for the entire summer for a car full. to go to the beach every day if you want. I only get to go usually only 1 day a week but even that is a great deal and if I go 2 days it is an amazing deal. The sand is pristine , the water is clean and it is a nice place to go.

“Pretty Beach, RIP Dad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2009

I went to Ocean Beach a week ago as it was the place my father, Steve Jackson, passed away on Christmas eve 2008. It was a nice, quiet, peaceful place. My father greatly loved nature and frequently took walks on Ocean beach. Although we never may know exactly how he passed out on the beach, this place will always hold a special place in my heart. I plan to take my baby daughter there someday since my dad always talked about how much fun he would have with her there. Sadly, he never got a chance to meet his only grandchild. My dad was a fun, outgoing man who loved the great outdoors. He cared about his daughters very much. His spirit will continue to live in the atmosphere of Ocean Beach.
